Within Temptation - Hydra

We all know I love this band, well, you should, they've had a total of 4 #1's for me and have been my Album of The Week several times.
Hydra is their 6th proper studio album (there is also an EP, 2 live albums and their covers album) and it looks set to be their best.
Paradise (What About Us?) was the first single and featured QUEEN TARJA and the Single came with 3 new demos, all of which were superb. Growls feature on one track
and are set to feature on more tracks, something I was unsure about, but they work in Silver Moonlight, so, yeah.
Dangerous is the new single and it is also SUPREMELY GOOD.


Kylie Minogue - 12th Studio Album

Okay so The Queen is also back with a new album sometime in the near future.
Skirt was released back in May and is amazing. We know Sia has worked with her. Amazing. Darkchild and Brooke Candy are two more names attatched to this project. Also
amazing. The album is said to be perfect for the treadmill....amazing. I don't fancy using one though.


Jennifer Lopez - 8th Studio Album

As with Kylie, we know this is coming, just not sure when. Live It Up slayed, the album will too. Jenny Lo has been pictured with Chris Brown, Robin Thicke and others, probably
for the album. Sia is also apparantly involved and we can surely except RedOne banger since she is on his label.

Others to look forward to:

Stereophonics - Apparantly they had alot of songs recorded/written for Graffiti On The Train and might polish them for another album in 2014. Would be awesome if this were to happen.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Wanderlust - Young Blood is gorgeous and the album sampler is also lovely. A nice change in direction for Sophie and it will be great to hear the songs in full.

Yup. Really. I liked to bash the girl when she did things that annoyed me, but I can't deny that she made a great album here and she deserves credit for that. There is a great mix

of uptempo bangers and some very touching ballads too. She doesn't have the best voice ever, but she puts the effort and emotion in. Just keep your clothes on and tongue in your mouth please.

Just combining the two parts since they were eventually released like that, makes things tidier.

I was never a big JT fan, other than to look back. However that changed when he released Suit & Tie, I was rather taken by it, then along came Mirrors and I became interested

in more than just his body. The 2 albums are very very good, part 2 being better as a whole IMO. I feel like I need to go buy his other two albums now cause I love his voice and the fact that he makes out with Amy Adams and said she was easy on the eye makes me love him even more. Lovely.

True Blood is the best 9+ minute song of all time. SO GOOD.

RPRT was a 2012 album but the re-release was 2013, so it's here, much like Chapman Square.

Olly will likely never top his debut for me, but this album came close. Really enjoyable except for Army Of Poo, silly Olly, why u release that?

The re-release features much sexier artwork and a whole bunch of new goodies, well, new to me anyway. The addition of his X-mas cover was a lovely touch, he did

a good job.

Alanis is the ultimate working Mum, she takes her son on tour and has her husband be her opening act. Awesome.

2nd proper love album from her, recorded at the Montreux in 2012, even though it came out in 2013. I adore live Alanis, she rocks on stage and her songs really

come to life when she sings them live. She relies on the backing track for some of the newer tracks, but the album had just come out so I doubt she was that used to singing them

in a live environment.

 

*Still* not heard LA DION :snif: but I am sure she'd be here too.

Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball | didn't fully grow to love this until recently, shame.

Justin Timberlake feat. Jay-Z - Suit & Tie | Song just missed out, shame.

Lady Gaga - Applause | Venus eventually took its place in my heart and ears, shame.

I too am looking forward to hearing the upcoming albums from Kylie and Within Temptation! I probably won't listen to J-Lo's album in full but I'm interested to hear the singles, hopefully not another dance-ordinated-Pitbull-featuring-track, even if the first 3 were great.

Really, as soon I found out that WT had a new single and Tarja was gonna be on it, there was never going to be any other song as my #1. But Lawson put up a good fight.
I liked them, but never loved them until they released LTLA, which is the best “boyband” song ever. I feel odd calling them a boyband, they are a Band tbh. This song was my longest running #1 with a mighty 6 week reign at the top. It is also one of my all time longest lasting singles, beaten only by Kylie's All The Lovers (52 weeks), J-Pit's On The Floor (45 weeks), Lil'J-Lo's I'm Into You (44 weeks), J-Lo's Papi (51 weeks) and Guardian by Alanis (43 weeks). So to end up with my Holy Trinity is a major feat for them. The song itself is pure eargasm, that anthemic chorus is LIFE and it is just so addictive. ARGH! SO GOOD.
And now our winner, the Queen of Operatic Metal Tarja joined forces with Within Temptation for what can only be described as a musical orgasm of mighty proportions. It has everything love in a WT song, strong intro, amazing guitar riffs, HUGE chorus and vocals that can send you to Heaven just as easily as they can make you fist pump the air. The brief silence before Tarja's operatic solo kicks in and the guitar solo happens is possibly the best thing to happen in music since.....ever. Sharon's voice is wonderful on this, she manages to keep up with Tarja's huge voice and they blend so well together. The video is also a masterpiece, set in a post apocolyptic world with Sharja saving it and bringing back rain, and thus, life to it. The band is generally very pretty too, especially Stefan, who is gazing at the godly Sharon here;

Well, kinda :lol: the singles from The Heart of Everything onwards certainly do. The singles from The Silent Force are a bit more...OTT, Mother Earth was a more celtic sounding album and their first album, Enter, was really gothic and had death growls in it :smoke:

 

Our Solemn Hour (not a single) is ESSENTIAL though, one of their best.
