5. Avicii - Hey Brother

Will be number 1 next week for sure... on 80% now and jumped just more than 5% in one update...

I was just going to say this myself it's climbed at a remarkable date in the past 3 days obv helped by the top 3 being low selling at the mo - the no1 will barely scrap 60k this week but it's still good as the overall sales haven't decrease by much still 30k to reach the top 10 & 8/9k for the top 40!

 33. Alive (feat. Jacob Banks) - Chase & Status

I didn't even notice this inside the top 100 until just now! :o That seems to just be me being unobservant though as it's been around for a while on Kworb. Gwon~

Yay for Sub Focus and John Newman entering the top 100 with their newies too (though I haven't heard either yet).

Being 59p has helped and it's alisted on radio 1 too should be a top 20 hit at least!

If 'Hey Brother' could top the chart next week that would be amazing! :cheer:

It's not 59p as far as I know.

23. Happy - Pharrell Williams

30. Show Me (feat. Chris Brown) - Kid Ink

33. Alive (feat. Jacob Banks) - Chase & Status

58. Ordinary Love - U2

63. Thank You (feat. Q-Tip, Kanye West & Lil Wayne) - Busta Rhymes

79. Losing Sleep - John Newman

88. Underneath the Tree - Kelly Clarkson

94. Turn Back Time - Sub Focus

There's always a lot of movement on a Thursday night for new songs before the weekend effect but the low sales at the top end have meant everything's rising very easily!

Kelly rising today due to the radio 1 track of the day status - hopefully this establishes it in the top 100 or maybe higher!?

'Hey Brother' is growing on me slightly but it really is just a much weaker version of 'Wake Me Up'. Wouldn't be the worst #1 ever but I would have far preferred 'You Make Me' to get there (well, I didn't like that too much at the time, but I love it now).

If it does get #1 though, he'll be the first act of the decade to get 3 #1s as the lead artist in a calendar year (Rita Ora had 3 #1s last year but one was a feature, the last acts to do it with lead credits only were The Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga in 2009).

Calvin Harris has had a sudden surge in the last Kworb update, from 0.9280 to 0.9552. Coming back for #1? Probably not as I think he's been over 0.9 all week and every time he starts to gain he just gets pushed back again.

Obligatory a-bit-too-early-to-be-appropriate-to-mention-this post but I suspect 'Free Nelson Mandela' will be re-entering pretty soon. (R.I.P.)
I'd disagree with that last bit. It's been shown that it doesn't work for some established artists, like The Saturdays (Notorious) and The Wanted (We Own The Night). Notorious only ended up with a decent enough run because it got reduced in price a few weeks in. I think OA/OS is good for some artists but others need that bit of build up (holding back for like 2/3 months though is stupid, 1 month at most is good enough IMO!).

It's one thing to say it didn't work with 'We Own The Night', but then again their next single was 'Show Me Love America' which was held back for months, entered the Top 10 and then bombed out of the chart as fast as it could. Did that really work any better?

It probably did better there than it would have had it been released OA/OS.

The Wanted clearly can have a hit with on air, on sale releases, since Glad You Came was released that way in the US and it ended up even bigger there than it was here.

I hope 1D manage to nip the #1 this week!

Wonder if that U2 song from the new NM film will rise now after the sad events?

RIP Nelson Mandela - and to think right wingers once tried to portray him aa a terrorist!

'Nelson Mandela' by the Special AKA now in at no. 1455.

I don't think you can compare We Own The Night's UK release with Glad You Came's American release...

Why? Glad You Came was on air, on sale in the US, and a massive hit there, so they can do it.

OA/OS is the norm in the US - radio know how to deal with slow builds. Radio in the UK really don't, that's a big part of why the system never took off here.
