I don't think Chile will win but it will be close, will only be one goal in it or penalties. Tempted to bet on Chile, but not sure I will.

I fancy Greece to beat Costa Rica, though CR should have enough to win.

I can't see Colombia not beating Uruguay, though it will be interesting to see if the 'world is against us' attitude post Suarez will galvanise them enough.

I'd love Holland to lose but can't see it happening. Would think that France, Argentina and Germany will reach the quarters easy enough, Belgium are certainly beatable, think USA could at least take it to Extra Time.

I think most of the match-ups speak for themselves agreed, really can't see past many of the big boys bar Brazil.

Just can't see Uruguay beating Colombia, I think the latter will win quite comfortably.

Be interesting to see whether Mexico can break down the defensiveness of Holland, and the three centre backs, I don't think they will be able to personally.

I'm affraid it's going to be Germany vs. The Netherlands in the final...

I predict the rest of the tournament to go as follows. Of course with the WC being so unpredictable this year, it might as well be Algeria vs. USA but realisticly I'd say this

I honestly wouldn't be able to call a Germany vs. The Netherlands match, but I sure as hell know I would't be able to cope with losing

Germany vs Netherlands would be some final, especially with all the history behind them.

Just get the feeling that this is Messi's year. Can't not see them in the final at the moment.

I think that it will happen a miracle and Greece will win the Worldcup..:smoke:

As no South American team has ever won it in the Americas then I can't see that though it would be a great final. Surely either Brazil or Argentina will be there, if not both.

I fail to see the logic behind that?

How does "no South American country has ever won on the Americas" lead to the conclusion that Brazil or Argentina should make the final?

I think he just means it the other way around. The only time a European country has won it outside of Europe was Spain in 2010.

World Cups in Europe (10): 9 European winners, 1 South American winner

World Cups in South America (4): 4 South American winners

World Cups in North America (3): 3 South American winners

World Cups in Asia (1): 1 South American winner

World Cups in Africa (1): 1 European winner

It would be quite remarkable to have two European teams in the final.

That's some freaky coincidence~

That definately interesting :o

I didn't know that! Well there's a first for everything right :kink:

This match is so tense

Theyt'll go into penalty's and I hope Chile take the victory

Unlucky Chile. They've been a breath of fresh air in this tournament.
I think Brazil are destined to win the World Cup now. I tipped them to win the tournament before it started but after this match it looks like luck is on their side this year.

Sorry guys, meant no European team.

The penalty shoot-out was exciting, glad Brazil won.

Really wanted Chile to win that, great game though. Hopefully they meet Columbia in the next round, which will be a great game to watch. I still think its going to be a Netherlands vs. Germany final.

Get in. I want the spectacle of Brazil at the Maracana, which means they'd have to make the final.

Worth noting that, with the relative underperformance of the European teams, four years ago there were only three European quarter finalists. They came first, second and third.
