What a decision to bring Krull on, when he only saved 2 penalties in his career

There was a time when it was tempting for England to have Matt Le Tissier on the bench to come on just before a penalty shoot-out but I don't recall seeing a team replacing the goalkeeper
Well... that was different  substituting the goalkeeper, blimey nice way to win the game.

My heart has exploded.

I was hoping for Costa Rica to win that but now fully team Netherlands.

Sad for Costa Rica but they've had an excellent cup and it wasn't a bad defeat for them, they can go home with their heads held high.

Team Netherlands now for a new winner, although I have various reasons to support all 4 of the teams left in (Germany for familial reasons, the South Americans for monetary reasons) so I have mixed loyalties now CR are out.

Argentina are my monetary reason to win but I'm fully behind a German win. Although I really wouldn't mind a Dutch win given the manager is MUFC bound in a matter of days :funky:
There's no doubt the Dutch deserved to win. They had 67% possession and 20 shots to Costa Rica's six (just one on target). Costa Rica have had a great World Cup but I think it's better for the tournament for the Dutch to go through.

:cheer: :cheer:

(what a boring match)

but a genius move to bring in 'Krul' at the very last minute! Van Gaal would have been trashed about it if we lost though

Gosh, the Dutch really were frustrating to watch with all those chances, very well played though. Costa Rica did really well to hold them off, even if their weaknesses did show outside of defense.

Would really like the Netherlands to win now, just because of how well they've done compared to expectations prior to the tournament (and yanno, they're my Buzzjack sweepstake team and all ~), although Brazil are my only team left in my real life sweepstake with my family. So a Brazil/Netherlands final would be a rather perfect result considering those two :P I have found I've really been able to enjoy this more after England's early exit, definitely takes a whole heap of pressure off and makes it a lot more fun to follow and casually support.

Van Gaal is indeed a genius :drama:

But it was by far from a boring match, my heart could't take it.

They've brought Tim Krul on!! WTF

He's the expert !

I've never been more happy a game ended. I'm so euphoric right now

The parties in the streets right now are unreal

Maybe its time for the Dutch to win this for the first time, they have been Runners Up three times. 1974 West Germany vs Netherlands, 1978 Argentina vs Netherlands, 2010 Netherlands vs. Spain.

Whereabouts in the Netherlands are you?

I'm definitely Team Netherlands in the semi but if Brazil somehow scrape past Germany I'll have a dilemma - before the tournament I said I wanted Brazil to win on home soil but they'd be up against my favourite team of the competition so far.

Gutted for Costa Rica. The Netherlands probably deserved to go through on the balance of play, but Costa Rica gave a valiant effort.

I can't see Netherlands beating Argentina. I know the latter haven't set the tournament alright either, but the Netherlands are being vastly overrated. Bar the first couple of games Van Persie and Robben have not really turned up, apart from a few dives and horror misses here and there. They're likeable and the underdogs of the four. With the semi-finalists we have, you either want a Brazil vs Argentina final, or Netherlands vs Germany - just for the rivalry and history. Can't see anything other than a Germany vs Argentina final right now though.

I'm fully team Argentina. Only because I want Messi to win the World Cup!

Whereabouts in the Netherlands are you?

I'm in the centre, Utrecht
