July 6, 201411 yr Germany wont beat Brazil, the home support will give Brazil the edge. Argentina will definitely beat Holland so we'll get a Brazil vs Argentina final next Sunday which will be one of the most passionately fought matches of all time. I think that's the most likely final but would like the Dutch to win it this time as they've been so near but so far before. Two great semis to come though.

Argentina will definitely beat Holland so we'll get a Brazil vs Argentina final next Sunday which will be one of the most passionately fought matches of all time. The home support has helped, but Germany are the best team in the competition (and I dread to think what they would have been like with Reus!) on paper. Trying to appeal Silva's suspension is an act of desperation. The thought of Jo and Fred leading the line in a World Cup semi-final is something that I'm sure gives everyone hope.
July 6, 201411 yr I have Germany in the sweepstake at work, so I am fully behind Deutschland at the moment (which probably means Brazil will knock them out on penalties or something... )
July 6, 201411 yr I wouldn't be so sure. Germany should easily beat Brazil, and Netherlands can give Argentina a game. Just hope Brazil don't win it. Without a doubt, this team would be the worst ever winners. Hope they boot Scolari. What? They're not even the worst team left. I suppose it's convenient to focus on how weak their centre forwards are, given that the defence has been really solid. Their first choice back five plus Gustavo and Fernandinho would keep them in any game.

Neymar aside, they're not great. Agree that their defence has done quite well. I've always been a big fan of Luiz, and not subscribed to the popular opinion the English media have of him that he can't defend. Good defence (but will be playing without Silva) and Neymar. The German midfield will be all over the game. Their only hope is to contain, and try to play on the break and hope the German forward line has an off day.

As a team Argentina have been far worse so far. Had Messi been injured it would have been 2002 all over again. I think missing Silva will be massive because I don't particularly rate Dante but having their first choice midfield back should give them some protection. Oscar should be able to have far more influence in the middle as well - he's been decent so far even out wide.
July 7, 201411 yr Author My predictions have been awful this tournament, but I'm going with Brazil, Germany, Argentina and Netherlands Knew I should have put a bet on it

Trying to appeal Silva's suspension is an act of desperation. The thought of Jo and Fred leading the line in a World Cup semi-final is something that I'm sure gives everyone hope. I wouldn't say that Germany is the best team in the competition but I believe that Brazil and Netherlands have the best teams based on their soccer games so far. Germany struggled to beat U.S.A and Algeria and they didn't impress me with their last game with France. On the other hand, Brazil beat Chile and Colombia which they were two of the best teams in the competition. Netherlands also beat Mexico and they had three consecutive wins in their group. So, I believe that Brazil and Netherlands deserve to be in the final but something tells me that Argentina will beat Netherlands on Wednesday.
July 7, 201411 yr I genuinely believe Germany will defeat Brazil. I just can't see any Brazil players scoring - Neymar was their best bet and unfortunately for Brazil, Fred is just awful.
July 7, 201411 yr As expected FIFA have rejected Brazil's appeal, and no retrospective action will be taken on the Neymar challenge. Brazil were really clutching at straws.
July 7, 201411 yr It was pretty sad to see them try to get Costa's yellow card revoked because they lost Neymar :drama:
