July 9, 201412 yr Think Germany will probably win it now, judging by these teams. Expect they'll have a Spain esque domination now.. too many good players, and they don't even have Reus. I think if anything, this World Cup has shown the lack of actual top class sides.

July 9, 201412 yr Jesus Cillessen was awful, not conviction at all. Looked like he was going to cry halfway through. Great set of penalties from the Argies. Poor game overall, although really looked like both teams settled for penalties after 90 minutes. Netherlands certainly up there with the most overrated teams after the group stage.
July 9, 201412 yr The Dutch really did grind to a halt after their first three games. Reliant on the counter attack and the occasional piece of interplay. For the first time in the tournament the shootout didn't go the way I wanted. I'm a reluctant German now. Can't be doing with a one man team.
July 9, 201412 yr Think Argentina are more than a one man team, they're not spectacular, but they're certainly much more solid than I thought they would be. How many goals have they conceded? Can't be many. Think they've conceded a lot in the attacking department, in order to be more sound defensively. Germany going in to the final favourites, and rightly so, but massive value for Argentina. They're going to be the home side, plus with Messi they've always got a chance. I'll definitely be backing them.
July 9, 201412 yr What a contrast between the two semi-finals. The outcome last night was obvious after 25 minutes but it was still compelling viewing. Tonight's match was dire.

July 10, 201412 yr Team Germany from now on. I hope they trash Argentina I don't think the natch was dreadful. Both teams were equally good, with both occasionally rising above the other
July 10, 201412 yr I said before the tournament that the Dutch would be crap, and bar the first match I really don't see what they've done to be impressive, and even in that they could (probably should) have been 2-0 down, especially in the knockout stages. Last night was a diabolical performance, at least Argentina tried to create chances. They're not brilliant but Netherlands have no place to be in the final at all, particularly after the way they disgraced themselves in it last time.
July 10, 201412 yr omg just noticed that both matches about to come were played 4 years ago during the Quarters, one after the other in the same order as this year. :o
