'Teenage Dream' was out months before that, 'Firework' was performed just a few weeks before its intended release date.

 

Dark Horse's release date is very soon too (in the US it is, but I assume it'll be similar everywhere else). Also, The One That Got Away got performed early too (it even dropped out the top 40 straight after since it had no airplay yet, Firework at least got the top 10 effect after the performance).

 

However, even though Dark Horse is just about to get released, if I were in charge I would have her perform Unconditionally because it really needs a higher peak, it's adult contemporary, so fits in with 90% of what's been getting used on X Factor this year, and it will sell albums better.

Popularity figures have never been available for albums, as far as I'm aware.

Yeah there's never been popularity bars for the albums on iTunes, kworb's album chart is a worldwide multi-chart based on points.

The killers are performing 'Human' and 'Mr. Brightside' tonight on the X factor and Tom Odell is performing 'Another Love'.

I assume this is due to X Factor USA being shown on ITV2 earlier today, very surprised to see it nearly top 200 on UK iTunes! :o

Oh Tom, that's quite possibly the most idiotic decision they could've made. Performing the song that's already a hit when he has a brand new single out right now that needs a leg up to the top 40. I adore Another Love but really?

It will help the album, yeah, but I think that could be done when performing I Know also, and in doing so, the song itself can become a minor hit too. Another Love should re-enter the top 40 though. Fingers crossed!

It will definitely put his album back into the top 10 on iTunes. I am not sure how well 'Another Love' will do considering it's about the fourth time it will be going back into the top 100.

Sara Bareilles deserves to be so much more than a one hit wonder in this country. Gravity and Brave to name but two are modern classics, yet she gets no exposure here whatsoever outside of Love Song, so annoying. Not to mention her Christmas songs Love Is Christmas and Winter Song, which was a #2 hit in Ireland iirc, yet never pushed here.

He tweeted saying "#iknow #youknow" a few days ago, assumed that was confirmation of the song choice. A real missed oppurtunity, but at least he's getting some more exposure; the album is fantastic.
