To be honest I haven't listened to parts of either of them more than once, or in full at all.

right OKAY

Not saying you're obliged to love it, but I don't get how it's anything close to 'just noise'. It's the most melodic thing he's done yet!

music is this rarely moving

PLEASE people!

that is the sort of inarticulate rubbish i'd push on justin bieber not burial

I was starting to think you downloaded the WRONG THING for a second. PHEW.
I've heard Come Down To Us and I don't particularly get it? It seems to change mood at different points throughout the song so it kinds of feels mixed up more than anything else for me, or perhaps that's the point. Maybe a few more listens will do it for me...

i don't think it does change mood per se - burial doesn't really do songs as much as soundscapes... the whole EP has motifs running throughout all 3 songs so its almost split just for convenience sake i'd say. it all has the same rooted idea and the same rooted message. it does level up and down though but that's essentially the point... the audio representation of a reaction.

Every song is nothing but a story to me personally. Some stories are simple and concise and some are complex. I guess it's just a matter of taste?

I didn't love it straightaway like others did. It was 7:42 and 9:05 + their build-ups of Come Down To Us that were really magical. Though now it's difficult to pick out highlights.

God if I could make something just 1% as magical as this.

This is one of those times that I dare not listen to the rest of the EP in case it's not as good as Come Down to Us. The last time I had such hear-breaking pessimism about music was when I heard Two Men in Love.

isn't the whole ep just one of the most SPECTACULAR things you have ever heard?

it's full of surprises, moments, emotion.

it's f***ing incredible when an EP of all things has the ability to do so much to your mind and your senses and in such a short short space of time.

Rival Dealer is BEAUTIFUL.
Come Down to Us is by far my fave of the three. Rival Dealer is quite harsh in an unpleasant way. The production doesn't seem to dazzle me as much as usual.

Still so so obessed with Rival Dealer.

It's very rare that a song seems to sum up how I feel in certain situations and makes me think about the way I listen to music and this song has done exactly that.

Both are sonically very different, yet have similarities in the manner that the samples have been used. Both are also my favourite tracks by him now by some margin, a really great demonstration of capability both sonically and emotionally.

Etched Headplate is still my favourite piece by him. Kindred is a close second.
