December 22, 201311 yr Surely Beyoncé is in with a good shot now? Obviously I'd love her to do so but it's not within the timeframe and I don't think she'd do it anyway as it hasn't been out for long.

The horse that kicked Dappy :kink: I have no idea in all seriousness Edited December 22, 201311 yr by Father Walrus
December 22, 201311 yr I do not think the new Beyoncé "era" has really done enough to justify an award. Female of the year for throwing an album out a couple of weeks prior to its end? Admittedly 17 music videos accompanied it but people like Katy and Gaga have been far more visible throughout the year.
December 22, 201311 yr Outstanding Contribution To Music god no idea. Isn't it going to be the horse that kicked Dappie? Still, should be one of New Order/Depeche Mode/The Cure/The Smiths/Stone Roses
December 22, 201311 yr Really :o?? Just asking because Katy is a surefire winner let alone nomination i would have thought. She's performing too which usually secures the win (as is Gaga but not sure she'd get it over Katy). oh i just didn't stick her in cos i thought all of the bad live press etc would get her nomination avoided whereas miley is never really a BAD performer, just controversial... but i didn't know who was performing on the night and i'm terrible at predictions so i'll not be shocked if the noms are otherwise!
But I thought we were awarding the music, not celebrity status. Coming back with such a strong album and 17 music videos to go with it shows how hard she has been working. Just because she hasn't been 'visible' while doing it does not mean she should be any less deserving of her work being celebrated. Not that any of this matters if she is outwith the time frame anyhow.
December 22, 201311 yr Best female album - sure. Most notable woman of the year? I don't think so. But if she had produced the 'Best Female Album' then surely she should be the one awarded, seeing as this award is based on the quality of the music? I don't understand your logic.
December 22, 201311 yr I consider the male/female of the year awards to be about more than just the quality of their albums. It's also about the singles, the videos, the performances and anything else they did that made an impact throughout the year. If there was nothing more to it than album quality, the award would be named "best female album". The only thing I can see working in her favour is that the other women weren't exactly firing on all cylinders this year and she did have the Superbowl and her tour. Being honest I think Miley deserves the award.
December 22, 201311 yr But if she had produced the 'Best Female Album' then surely she should be the one awarded, seeing as this award is based on the quality of the music? I don't understand your logic. This has always been my stance on things. How could the female who produced the best album not be the best female? You dont need to dominate all 12 months of the year to be the best female of the year. It should be purely down to album quality.
December 22, 201311 yr Hold on isnt the British Single voted for by the listeners of Radio 1 or something like that?
December 22, 201311 yr The music industry has always celebrated much more than the music itself. The reason artists like Michael Jackson and Madonna are so iconic is because they excelled at more than just music. That is why it is logical to judge artists on more than just the quality of their albums.
December 22, 201311 yr What may happen is that she is included in 2015 nominations. Do they still have the eligibility period of ~15 months?
December 22, 201311 yr I wish Dido could be considered for nomination but lack of commercial success plus a past it rep all mean it won't happen. It would also be good to see Pink get nominated after last year's snubbing but I fear the album is too old and she'do only be overshadowed by Katy and Miley anyway. Didn't tune into the Sande show last year and I don't know if I can be bothered this year either.
December 27, 201311 yr I would be very surprised if Robbie will not get a nomination as Live Act. Take The Crown Tour is the biggest Tour of 2013 in UK and the biggest solo tour in UK since MJ's Bad Tour. Edited December 27, 201311 yr by Better Man
