As annoys as I am that the album was so expensive in the first place, the album was starting to free-fall, and it’s now climbed back to #12 from #24.

I want it top 10! Apparently deal ends tomorrow at midnight, so it was just to try and keep it top 10 officially I think. Wonder where it is today...
Leona is at #9 today with 6.8k sold. Eek. Sold 680 copies yesterday. Sam Smith will overtake her but she MIGHT overtake Slayer.

Do you know the gap between Sam Smith and the #11

She more than likely will not make the top 10. She's only 400 sales ahead of 11 and 11 is selling 500 a day more than her. This is without streaming, so she could probably land as low as 14/15 but 11/12/13 is more likely. At the rate she's selling she'll also be out of the top 40 next week.

Lets hope this discount gives her the boost on itunes to maintain top 10. I think it is still feasible but unlikely. I am dreading the drop next week. I don't understand why they would totally scrap the I Am video. Just put it on youtube/vevo presenting I Am as a 'promo' single and get single #3 (assuming ALS based on the advert) out there on radio. This album will have no longevity if there is nothing out there to push it. Why they haven't put FUMF or I Am on discount as well is beyond me. If you are going to discount the album, why not discount the key tracks people might have heard so they get them (and perhaps decide to complete their album later).

See this is why I think they need to get a 3rd single out now basically, you said they should just focus on one song this year like YKMW in October/November, when surely that would be a mistake as the album will sink by then.

They have time to get two more singles out this year imo, but only if they act quick and get the 3rd out really soon.

New peak of 11 on iTunes!

Really wish they started at a lower price for the album and sad they are ending it on Thursday, I think they should keep it low.

New peak of 11 on iTunes!

It is number 6 really, because five of those ahead are compilations.

Now if it climbed one more place that would give it that bit of exposure that would have helped much more had it entered on Friday.
These discounts work in the short term.In the long term, she needs a big hit single that gets itunes top 10 and does well on airplay. Not sure if I'm crazy about her performing Thunder on Ellen Friday.Thunder is stalling on Hot AC and it's uncertain if it's going to top 40 radio.

#11! Come on Leona you can do it one more place!!!!! Hopefully it'll rise more once in top 10 too!
Album up to 10 on UK iTunes.

Mini celebration. Right lets hope it rises a few more places. I expected the standard ed to be higher too, hasn't entered top 100 yet..

Album up to 10 on UK iTunes.

- and that's really no 6 excluding compilations and an EP.

I guess that's pretty great. #6 artist album without a hit single.

The album is falling down Usa itunes. Now down to #40.Will probably be close to dropping out of top 100 before Fridays Ellen performance. Then it will probably rise back up to around #25 again.

I am personally disappointed in how Def Jam and Island have handled things. They do not seem to have agreed on an integrated strategy, and I'm not sure who is to blame. I could be wrong, so I'll just leave it there for now. I feel though that Leona needs to be careful moving ahead. Either Def Jam and Island prove themselves the rest of the year as worthy partners, or they release her and she moves on to other things. If you are going to sell like an indie, you may as well be one fully.

I AM is a good album. Production on certain songs could have been better (and I'm sure that can be said for a lot of other work), but it has gems that qualify for a good sales run. The issue so far seems that a precise strategy was not applied in its release. I can only recommend the below in my considered judgment.

As time is of the essence and videos for IGU and ALS (the other uptempo tracks on the album) are not ready, it may be time to send FUMF to Top 40. This will be done in conjunction with a worldwide push of the same single. They need a solid uptempo track fast on the format, one whose organic airplay on it will help draw the requisite buzz for Leona. Fast; I'm not willing to bet on any of the unvideod songs because...things could happen (re: I AM video).

Push FUMF till it peaks. If this is mid-November, then go with I Got You as a next single. It has nice religious undertones that could play well from Thanksgiving through to the New Year. YKMW can get the routine Talent Show showcase, but radio, daytime TV can be all about I Got You.

Will really look forward to see what's in store in terms of promo. Island also needs to get moving on Europe if they are covering release there.

It's confusing for me, because I think DJ seem to be doing a great job. But with a country that she's unlikely to crack. I agree that they have not intergrated very well and I think Island, so far, have been pretty poor.

I wish the effort Def Jam have put in had gone into the UK because it would have been a much easier sell than America.
