It's a shame but most of the guys he refers to will never give them a chance. I have a friend who hates them and literally refuses to listen to or watch a single second of their stuff. Yet I truly believe their most recent album would be quite up his street, musically. Kind of frustrating how closed-minded people can be.

 

In general I feel like their male fans aren't really taken notice of. Watching 'This Is Us', you'd be lead to believe that their fanbase is literally 100% young/teen girls. Obviously that is the core market, but there are certainly male fans too! (Hi, this entire forum :kink: )

I'd say 35% of their fanbase was probably gay males. Maybe even more?

If we'd known training as a driving instructor would give us the opportunity to feel up Liam Payne for a living, we might've concentrated a little harder on the difference between parallel parking and three point turns. Apparently we've missed out on that one, but having had a little feel of the One Direction singer's torso, 1D instructor Noel Gaughan has done the right thing and decided to describe the experience in graphic detail.

Having a chat to The Daily Star about Liam's love of a good work out, Noel said: "When I was with him recently, he went all day on just coffee and KitKats - five days in a row.

 

“Liam’s got his own gym which he showed me around. It’s amazing.

 

“He even showed me his six pack - and when he hugged me I could really feel his muscles," Noel added.

 

Naturally it's not enough to focus on the image of a man having a sneaky feel of Liam's upper torso and apparently the fact the 1D singer owns a treadmill has got some blabbermouth source a bit concerned. So concerned in fact that you'd think he'd been running so hard his legs were actually about to fall off or something.

 

"The intensity of life in the band seems to affect Liam more than the other boys, and going to the gym seems to be one of the only things that relaxes him," the insider, who claims to be a close pal, said.

 

“But we do sometimes fear he might get carried away - especially if he’s not eating properly.”

One Direction heartthrob Liam Payne reckons his young fans should be out and about enjoying life rather than spending their free time on social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram, according to latest reports.

 

Although all of the 1D singers are avid users of social media networks, the 20-year-old star says he worries about how much time youngsters spend on the sites.

 

''When I think about it, I do start to worry about this whole social media thing," he told Top of the Pops magazine. "It does make me uncomfortable; kids should be out, living their lives, getting out and enjoying themselves.''

 

While Liam and his One Direction bandmates, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik are currently on a break ahead of their Where We Are world tour, kicking off in April, Payne is still coming to terms with their global fame.

 

He explained: ''It's surreal and I don't think any of us have got our heads around it. It's amazing, it's crazy, it's like nothing we ever thought would happen, but it's also just weird. The performing, the writing, the albums - all of that is just more incredible than you could ever imagine.''

 

One Direction bagged two awards at this year's BRITs (Best Video for Best Song Ever and Global Success), with them reuniting after a few months for the awards ceremony, however, they soon went their separate ways, with Harry being snapped arriving at LAX just 24 hours after the bash.

I wouldn't be surprised if he struggled the most with the spotlight, especially if his recent Twitter outbursts are any indicator. He has always seemed to be the most conscientious and responsible.

 

As far as the new album, trying too hard to change the make-up of their fan base could be their downfall. I hope they're careful not to alienate the fans who got them to where they are.

That's my worry with this as well. It's all good and well saying that they hope to capture some male fans with the new album, but I hope they're not using 'Midnight Memories' as a springboard to turn the tables completely and make a rock album with the fourth (obviously 'Midnight Memories' is the perfect blend of rock and pop, with a little bit of folk, but they're far better off now with pop and other genres mixed into it than they will be if they lose the majority of the fanbase who generally dislike the rock genre).

If I touched Liam- in any shape or form- I would never wash said part of my body ever again.

 

 

Simon Cowell will not change their formula... if anything, I reckon their gonna go more poppy, or this current Disclosure sound. One thing I feel MM was lacking was their formulaic pop songs a la "Best Song Ever".

Hopefully they do go more poppy with the next album! 'Midnight Memories' was the perfect mix of pop/rock/folk, but another 'Take Me Home' would be fabulous :wub:

Yeah I can't imagine them going TOO rocky. It would alienate there fanbase I assume. More songs like 'Best Song Ever' would be fabulous.

The avid songwriter is now offering to pen tunes for other acts - including Neon Jungle.

“He told us he wanted to write for us and likes our sound, which was amazing. We couldn’t believe, so that’s definitely something for the future.”

 

The girls have just released the video for new single Welcome To The Jungle - which sees them raving it up in a barn in the middle of nowhere.

 

Amira adds: “It was a fun shoot, but I actually got naked in the woods.

 

"It was the last scene, and I needed to get changed quickly. I thought lets go hard or go home, so I just nipped behind a tree and stripped off.

 

"It got the job done.”

Liam is something of a music industry whiz - telling us recently (along with Harry Styles) that Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell’s return to the X Factor will be dynamite.

 

Speaking exclusively to 3am, Harry (fresh off a plane from Los Angeles) revealed that music mogul Simon and Cheryl work “because they fight”.

 

And he should know.

 

It was the 2011 shows when One Direction were formed that Simon and Chez last sat together on the panel.

 

Liam also reckons the combo works because Chezza stands up to the media tycoon.

 

He told us: “Yeah, she’s not afraid of him at all, obviously some people are too scared to say what they think around him on the show and she’s, like, ‘No you’ve brought me in to do a job and I’m going to do it'.”
