Posted December 27, 201311 yr Hey guys! Thinking about updating the forum name now that 4.0 has actually split-up to the "Mutya Keisha Siobhan" Forum. Before I asked for the update I wanted to check with you guys to see what you'd think. This would still be the place for discussing Sugababes 1.0 through 4.0 and MKS just with a new name to make us look more up-to-date and current! ^_^ Thanks!
December 27, 201311 yr Personally I don't think the name should be changed to "Mutya Keisha Siobhan forum" if you still intend to include discussion on Heidi, Amelle and Jade in the forum (which you say that you do still intend to). This is because I feel all 6 girls are related to the "Sugababes" name but you cannot relate Heidi, Amelle and Jade to the "Mutya Keisha Siobhan" name. It would be like changing the Girls Aloud forum to the Cheryl forum for example, but still allowing discussion on the other 4 members and it doesn't really make sense to me. If you moved discussion on Amelle, Heidi and Jade out of this forum then it would make sense to update the name, but while they are still being discussed in here - using the Sugababes name is the only name that applies to all 6 girls in my opinion.

Although most of the discussion will be on MKS, I think it's good to keep Amelle, Heidi and Jade in the picture too because they're still a part of the Sugababes history. It'd be like renaming the Girls Aloud forum to just Cheryl Cole cause she'll be most prominent.
December 27, 201311 yr Author The main reason I am proposing this change is for the search engines. We need to be getting hits when people search for MKS seeing as the Sugababes name is winding down and there are less searches for it than previously. This then doesn't bring as much traffic and thus revenue to the site. Not going to be changing any other aspect of the forum, just bringing in more traffic. No point in keeping an outdated name when it's not the aspect of the groups history that is bringing in search hits.
December 27, 201311 yr I definitely see your point and I'd agree, but it'd be strange discussing Jade, Amelle and Heidi in the MKS forum. :lol: Why not rename it to 'Sugababes & MKS Forum"? Then it's basically a compromise.

Phil did shorten all the AF names a while ago which is why I initially just went with MKS but I'm happy to propose MKS & Sugababes forum if that's the general consensus! ^_^
December 27, 201311 yr I see your point, but at the current time I still think more people search Sugababes than MKS anyway - however I see your point that MKS could bring in new people. Wouldn't the best thing to do be calling it "Sugababes & MKS" and that way, it will both be a name that is relevant to everyone that is discussed in the forum as well as be up-to-date for search purposes? EDIT: I see that has already been suggested! :kink:

December 28, 201311 yr Author That's not the question that was asked was it? Also just because 4.0 is dead doesn't mean the Sugababes are. They three people that FORMED THE BLOODY BAND are still active and making music. Just because Heidi has taken a career in telesales doesn't mean that everything related to the brand is over.

December 29, 201311 yr Maybe rename it 'Mutya Keisha Siobhan & Sugababes Forum'? Best of both worlds! I prefer this option. MKS should be written in full because that's the actual name of the group, and it should come first because it's the entity that is active at the moment.
