Looks like Queen could underperform given their iTunes and Amazon positions unless the documentary really helps them out.

I'm sure it'll do fine anyway, but yeah the Nation's Favourite Queen Song will definitely help - last year's Nation's Favourite was about Elvis and the show resulted in a rather successful greatest hits.

Thing is, they already have many Greatest Hits albums which have sold astonishingly well, and I'm thinking will people just buy those instead?

Cheryl is now dropping: Only Human down to 5 (from 4), 46 (down from 32), and 95 (down from 76).

15 Marina and The Diamonds Froot (Pre-order)

Fantastic start for the album.

Queen update, following the airing of 'The Nation's Favourite Queen Song':

14 - Queen Forever (Deluxe Edition)

20 - The Platinum Collection

31 - Greatest Hits

41 - Queen Forever

93 - Greatest Hits II

282 - Live At Wembley Stadium

498 - A Night At The Opera

506 - Greatest Hits III

618 - Queen

728 - Innuendo

969 - A Kind Of Magic (Deluxe Edition)

976 - The Works

1094 - Sheer Heart Attack

1102 - Made In Heaven (Deluxe Edition)

1215 - A Kind Of Magic

1390 - A Day At The Races

It looks like my theory about Queen's documentary is accurate: the deluxe of Queen Forever has climbed a tad from 14-13, with the standard edition rising 63-41, but The Platinum Collection has raced up to 20 and their other Greatest Hits has similarly sprinted to 31. It looks like the majority of people just bought these two instead -- and who can blame them? They are superior.

Meanwhile, Cheryl is down to 11, 106 and 114. Her situation is dire, a raging disaster.

Did the TV programme specifically plug the new album? If not I suspect it'll boost sales of the physicals more as they'll be more visible in... places where albums are sold (I assume these must still exist as CD album sales are still pretty decent).

Let's not be too dramatic! :kink: (Buy it x)

But honey, the receipts are there in black and white. :P I will -- when I have the money. :P :drama:

I didn't watch it, but I suspect that it probably didn't. I wouldn't be surprised if not that many people know it's even out, to be honest.

The documentary was just about the top 20 Queen songs whereas the first side of the new album at least is of Queen rarities and then there are more familiar songs on side 2 though not a comprehensive GH style cd. It also includes the new RED charity release that was in the iTunes chart last week.

The documentary is repeated tonight and Queen are performing on XF in a couple of weeks. I suspect it will sell ok over the festive season!

56. Olly Murs - Never Been Better {pre-order}

not really looking great for him and im sure he'll be able to snatch #1 but could we be looking at a calvin harris situation albeit less serious, his sales could be pretty low if he knocks of 1D

God it would be disasterous if it was a Calvin siuation. I expect him to sel at LEAST 50k!

Lol he'll sell far more than 50k. I think what the poster means is 1D could potentially take the #1 from him, but I think he'll get it.

That makes more sense, I think Olly should be doing over 100k next week but we shall see!

Olly Murs is at #42 in the album chart and it's released in under 6 hours. Eek, praying he does well this week because he really is quite likeable and makes good pop tunes.

Haven't done one of these for a while ~ Lemme try and get them going again.

Top 100 update (23/11/2014, 22:00)

Wow at James Bay getting #1 with his EP, looking like he could get a safe top 40 hit this week!

Olly's pre-order hasn't done incredibly but I have a feeling he's still going to get #1 quite easily regardless, it'll certainly look quite bad for him if his album is held off #1 by the second week sales of One Direction's album. David Guetta should get another top 5 album (probably #5 at worst behind Olly/1D/Ed/Sam).

Other pre-orders of albums out this week: Jools Holland #109, Mary J Blige #114, Rick Ross #130, Boyzone #150, Barry Manilow #184. Susan Boyle has a new album out this week, obviously nowhere on iTunes but could she miss the top 10 for the first time?
