The singles are based on a point system (40 points for every #1 position down to 1 point for every #40 position) whereas the albums are based on quality. Any comments and recommendations are more than welcome!

I'm surprised I liked 'Everything Has Changed' - there's a few Taylor Swift songs I like but I find her irritating as a person and I don't like any Ed Sheeran singles aside from the underrated 'You Need Me...', so I didn't expect to be so fond of a collaboration between the two. Next is Sound of 2013 winner HAIM with 'Don't Save Me'. I much preferred this to 'Forever' which seemed to be more popular here at the time. Anyone who likes fun.'s 'Carry On' will probably be a fan of 'Why Am I the One' as they sound quite similar. Both should have done much better in the charts. 'Cheating' was the follow-up to 'Love Me Again', and I in fact prefer the Freemasons mix to it than the original but unfortunately I couldn't find a radio edit version of that so it was the original that charted here. Lily Allen made a great comeback with 'Hard Out Here' but it criminally underperformed in the charts due to lack of airplay and the overshadowing of her cover of 'Somewhere Only We Know'. The latter shows beautiful vocals from Lily but it's the controversial side to her that I prefer in this case. I was flicking through radio stations one night and I came across 'The Perfect Life' by Moby and I really liked the sound of it! I've only knowingly heard one other Moby track and that was his mix of the James Bond theme, but I wasn't expecting a sound like this. 'Light Me Up' is the lowest #1 in my Top 100, although it is still charting so will be racking up a few more points yet. This was a standout for me when I listened to Fire Within although it's fallen quite fast in my chart, perhaps because I preferred it more back when it was an album track as opposed to now. I think I liked 'Skip to the Good Bit' mainly because of the sample, not that fussed on the song anymore. 'Can't Pretend' is another song I liked whilst everyone else seemed to prefer another, this time being the boring 'Another Love'. I had a listen to 'Can't Pretend' yesterday after not hearing it since his album was first released and I think it's my favourite of his now. Last in this bunch of songs is Miley Cyrus' 'We Can't Stop'. As much as I dislike her image and what she has become as a person, her songs are still a guilty pleasure for me and this is such fun at parties.

I love the loud vocals and it's not as experimental as I expected from his music. The lyrics to 'Lost Generation' are quite clever and funny, pretty much expected from Rizzle Kicks, although this song was weaker than 'Down With the Trumpets' and 'Mama Do the Hump'. 'Losing Sleep' manages to enter the Top 100 thanks to it's surge to #4 in my last personal chart of the year. Really started to click with me now, could potential make it's way to #1 at one point this year! It's a shame that the video for 'Wrecking Ball' makes it harder to take the actual song seriously as its lyrics and its background are rather poignant. I charted 'Your Body is a Weapon' a few weeks after first hearing it - I liked it from the start but I just kept forgetting to add it to my playlist! Highest placed David Bowie song is his comeback single 'Where Are We Now?'. This took a while to get into but when I did, I realised it was quite a beautiful track. I'm still impressed it managed to hit #1 on iTunes! Next is another comeback song - this time Work Bitch by Britney - although overall this era has been less successful than Bowie's. This track is good, perhaps a little unimaginative but still an enjoyable listen. Probably would have done better in the charts had she actually performed it! 'Give It 2 U' was the follow-up to the massive 'Blurred Lines', although I think was to be expected that it would be very overshadowed by that. Still, I liked it a lot and was a standout when I heard Robin's album. One fourth of ABBA (and easily the best fourth) Agnetha Faltskog returned to music after 9 years away and 'The One Who Loves You Now' was one of the singles. It's got a lovely wintery feel to it so it was a great decision to release it in the UK in November. Lastly comes the first entry from one of my favourite acts of the year - Paramore. 'Hate to See Your Heart Break' wasn't released as a single but I really wish it was as it was instantly one of my favourites from the album! It's similar to 'The Only Exception' in terms of it being a really touching ballad.

It quickly clicked with me, although once it peaked it fell quite rapidly. I tried hard not to like it but 'The Other Side' proved to be too catchy! Still nowhere near the standard of Jason's best track 'What If' though. The first out of three singles from The Saturdays in this countdown is 'Disco Love'. More pop than disco but it's still good anyway, plus the video is brilliant and I love the references to Donna Summer, Bee Gees and Britney Spears. I was thrilled when HAIM achieved their first Top 20 hit with 'The Wire'. Actual disco music (not The Sats attempt) made a mini revival in 2013 and HAIM brought another 70s genre back - glam rock. 'Panic Cord' is my favourite single from Gabrielle Aplin, such a sweet, innocent song, rather like the girl who sings it! I don't think anyone expected either artist to ever trouble the charts again but Matt and Mel managed a #14 peak with 'Loving You'. A great collaboration which sparked much speculation that they were a couple (I'm still not sure if they are or not, but I think Regina would have something to say about it if they were!). Greatly hated by most of the people of Buzzjack but I for one think 'Feel This Moment' is a mega party tune! It didn't last long after leaving my Top 10 but that may be because you need to be out of your seat and partying to enjoy it to the max. Bonnie Tyler was our Eurovision entry last year and she fought for us with the beautiful 'Believe in Me'. Not very Eurovision-esque if you're used to 'Euphoria' anthems, but it's a stunner of a ballad. The fact that 'Get Lucky' was absolutely everywhere kind of killed a lot of love I had for it, but today I'm glad it has become a classic. Best known for his feature on Rihanna's 'Stay', Mikky Ekko's 'Pull Me Down' was brought to my attention on someone's personal chart (may have been Calum's?) and I'm glad I checked it out as it's a beauty. Similar pace to 'Stay' as well.

Bit of a risky single choice as the girls experiment with rapping, however I was won over by it despite initially thinking it sounded more like an album track than a single. David Bowie wasn't the only act to surprise everyone on iTunes this January, as the same week Bon Jovi dropped their lead single 'Because We Can'. It made its way up to the Top 10 on iTunes but unfortunately it's drop throughout the peak gave it a #38 peak. I prefer this to the Bowie record, very anthemic - pretty much expected from this band. One song that didn't grab to me as much as it did for everyone else is 'Roar'. At first, it didn't look like it would be a hit at all here until the video was released and it surged into my Top 5. I still like the song although there's a few tracks on the album that I prefer. I can remember Ke$ha performing 'C'mon' on Graham Norton and I loved it, the vocals were quite good too! It's my favourite out of the three singles from the Warrior album but unfortunately it was the worst performing in the official charts. Dido returned with her fourth album in early 2013 which brought us the single 'No Freedom', a slow song that showed off her lovely voice. 'What Doesn't Kill You' has that typical Jake Bugg sound which I'm happy about as my first reaction to the title was that this would be a self-empowering track. Only 2 minutes long but it's very fast paced so it sounds a little longer than it is. Don't know why I liked 'Drinking from the Bottle' so much at the beginning of the year as now I try to avoid it at all costs. There is something about most singles by The Script that annoy me slightly but I have no idea why, however this wasn't the case with 'If You Could See Me Now' as the lyrics - a tribute to late family members of the band - were so touching. Another song to peak officially at #14 and plummet was Avril Lavigne's 'Here's to Never Growing Up'. I can remember seeing the video ages before the singles release and it included references to debut single 'Complicated'. It's a great song although I knew it wouldn't be a smash hit. J-Lo fans were absolutely obsessed with 'Live It Up' whereas I absolutely hated it! However it quickly grew on me a lot and became a #1 here. It's the third lead single in a row from J-Lo that was a dance-pop record featuring rapper Pitbull and this formula has proved less successful in the charts each time. I do still like it, especially since the video showcased J-Lo's very nice bum in one shot...

Much more feistier than 'You Bring Me Joy' although not quite as good. I was slightly disappointed by 'True Love' being chosen as fourth single from P!nk's The Truth About Love as the first 3 choices were perfect and I wanted 'Slut Like You' or 'How Come You're Not Here' as single #4. However this really grew on me since its release, although the video is a big no no for me! 'Blurred Lines' may be fast approaching the title of best selling single of the decade so far but, like 'Get Lucky', its over-exposure dented the success of it on my chart. I love it again though and it's a must at parties now! Another act to make a comeback in 2013 was Fall Out Boy with their lengthy-titled single 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light 'Em Up)'. This was actually the first Fall Out Boy song that I had heard; I've since checked out the rest of their discography and it's fab, but this song still remains one of my faves. 'Right Place Right Time' is easily my favourite from Olly Murs this era, the rest I'm pretty bored of still whereas this still sounds good. I was a little late to the party with Biffy Clyro's 'Opposite' as I think it reached my Top 5 almost 2 months after its single campaign started! It's an alternative rock ballad and still sounded great despite its summer release. First single to appear from one of my favourite new acts of 2013 is 'Change Your Life' by Iggy Azalea. It's an urban track similar to 'Work' just not quite as good and not as memorable lyrics, but a great sassy song nonetheless! One out of three songs in the Top 100 from the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby, Emeli Sande with the help of Bryan Ferry and co. completely re-invented Beyoncé's R&B classic 'Crazy in Love' into a sensational swing number. It's scary how well it works and shouldn't be overlooked just because of the artist. Probably my biggest guilty pleasure of the year is The Vamps' debut single 'Can We Dance. I don't what it is about it, I mean, they're singing about getting pissed when they all look about 12, but it's just a really catchy song! Easily the best track for me from The 1975 is 'Sex'. The other singles are good too although the rest of their debut album was a disappointment unfortunately.

'Broken' was always a highlight for me on Jake Bugg's debut album, very happy it got a single release and I thought releasing it last was a fitting end to the era. Franz Ferdinand may have zero chart success today but their singles from this current album have been immediately catchy, including 'Evil Eye' which sits at #48. They all sound very similar but there's still something that sets them apart. Must listen to their album some time! It's hated by a lot of people but I think 'Goin' Crazy' is really catchy and a great collab between Robbie and Dizzee (even though I wouldn't have imagined putting them together in a million years!). Highest placed song from Florence and her crew is another from The Great Gatsby soundtrack. 'Over the Love' is very different to the jazzy Emeli Sande song - it's instead a haunting ballad where Florence's vocals are really put to the test and I think she pulls it off beautifully. SO much better than 'Applause' (which only just made my Top 200 on this Year End Chart!), 'Do What U Want' put hope into ARTPOP for me. Curving into an R&B area, this sounds so fresh even though it has been compared with music of the 80s. It sounds good whether or not it is the R Kelly or Christina Aguilera version. I'm still so sad that Girls Aloud are no more, but they didn't go before giving us the killer anthem 'Something New'! It premiered in October 2012 but I was still in love with it in 2013, making its debut in the Top 3 on my first ever personal chart. They've had more memorable and more ground-breaking songs in their back catalogue but this is still one of my favourites! Two Door Cinema Club have such a distinctive sound and 'Changing of the Seasons' is gem from the group, however I still think 'Sleep Alone' is my favourite. Celine Dion made a fabulous return to music with 'Loved Me Back to Life' - a power ballad with a modern touch and co-written lyrics by Sia, all which helped her receive her first Top 20 single in over a decade. Just missing out on the Top 40 by a place is Agnetha Fältskog who kept the 70s alive with her disco masterpiece 'Dance Your Pain Away'. Seriously, if you love ABBA or disco music, you definitely need to check this out!
