I get that because the old hits still get great views. Plus SM’s views were clocking up in the first half of the year and we’ve had so many singles this year.

Seems feasible to me!

That’s amazing though!!!

Yes, and they have so many songs - about 25 singles. Plus most of their fans are probably in the UK. Impressive still. Let them be on top at something!

Brits nominations announced tomorrow! Because I prefer being pleasantly surprised, I kind of think they're not getting any nomination? Maybe Heartbreak Anthem for British single at the most? They haven't released a studio album this year, so could they be nominated for British group? They're certainly not winning any of these anyway - even if they do get nominated.

We've had talks about a medley performance and/or some outstanding contributions kind of award. As a group, they've achieved much. But put on par with other artists eligible for next year's brits, do we really think they'd get such an award? If they're not winning an award, how likely is it they'd get a slot for a medley?

I think Heartbreak Anthem might just make it into British Single. I doubt they’ll be in best group again. I don’t know how the best pop/rnb artist category is gonna work but they have a chance to be nominated for that I guess. Last Brits they seemed to remove the need for an artist to have put out an album to be nominated so I think they’ve still got a chance.

I would love a medley performance though! Would be a great last big public performance from them.

Nominated for British Group and International Song.

Such a shame Sweet Melody neither got a nomination 2022 nor 2021. It was a #1 single, went platinum quickly, was in the top 10 for a long time, and is such a good song. The Brits keeps snubbing the girls, using them as underdogs, yet still using them for promotions on social media.

They're not winning any of these awards, and I don't think they're performing either. I hope they prove me wrong with the latter!

Sweet Melody wasn’t released this year so it wasn’t even eligible to be nominated. That’s the issue with releasing songs at the end of the year, they’re not gonna get nominated. Just look at Dua Lipa and Don’t Start Now. One of the biggest songs in the last few years but didn’t get nominated cause it was released in October similar to Sweet Melody.
Ah that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying that, I didn’t realise it couldn’t be nominated outside its year.

Dua Lipa still had a nomination for Physical. Artists don't usually get more than one nomination for British single especially if lead artists. Also, Adele's Easy On Me, and actually Shout out to my ex were both released in October in their respective years and got nominated (with shout out to my ex winning). Also, don't forget that last year's window was extended to include when Sweet Melody got to number 1. So surely it should have had a nomination for 2021.

I don't know if labels send eligible songs and so maybe they had sent Break Up Song since it was the lead?

In any case, it's a bit annoying.

Also, why are they even not in best pop? Because their best performing song this year was a dance song, and the pop ones flopped? If they got nominated, that's the only one they could have had a chance of winning, cos it's fan-voted.

Best single is decided by the top best selling songs of the year. It’s simple, Easy On Me and SOTME both got nominated in the respective years as they sold enough to be in the top 10/15 best selling British singles. Sweet Melody on the other hand was a slow burner and only got to number 1 in the next year so was not in the top songs for either year. But labels know this so it shouldn’t be a shock that it wasn’t nominated.

Ah I also forgot about the late Brits this year too.

I agree Sweet Melody should’ve got the nod over Break Up Song.

They announced the first lot of performances at this years Brits and LM are yet to be announced, I really hope we will get a performance from them but I’m trying not to get my hopes up.

Is there any indication that a performance is happening?

Wouldn't get hopes up.

Between tour should have already happened prior to Between Us release (to not create this limbo before official hiatus) and treatment at last year's show suggests a big behind the scenes push to have big send off Last year was already the send off and wont do twice.

Honestly this entire 'era' would be salvageable with a Brits medley to go out with a bang.

Ed Sheeran and Liam Gallagher though...

That's hilarious.

I was listening to On Your Radar by The Saturdays and it hit me that I was listening to that while Little Mix were still on X-Factor. I cannot believe it's been 11 years and they're still not (technically) finished yet.
