Have you bought less this year than say last year or previous years? Why is that, lack of good releases, strapped for cash, or due to downloading/streaming?

I only bought two new release CD albums, Daft Punk and Robbie Williams and I don't download.

EDIT. MMLP2 as well, forgot that one.

I've probably bought more this year than previous, but the majority of them have been second hand from Charity Shops or car boot sales; only a few have been full-priced issues
I do. If I want an album I buy the physical. I only download for individual tracks I want or for the bonus tracks on a deluxe edition.
I still buy most albums on CD, I don't like only having a digital copy really. Also buy CD singles where possible too.
I'm pretty young and have only just got a job in the past 3 months so I've only just started buying physical albums as I've had the disposable cash. Most of my mates just think I'm a weirdo wasting my money but I actually love buying albums, probably cause I'm just a huge music and chart geek.
I buy the Now albums on physical, but that's it.

Good on you. I prefer a physical album too.

So do you not listen to music??

I stopped buying cd albums in early 2013 and just download albums off ITunes but now have a record player and have got vinyls from this yr!!

Occasionally if I like an act, mind you this year I've hardly bought any. And I usually wait when they come down in price for £5.99 or something like that.
Yes I do - I play them in my car as I have a bog standard single CD player in my old banger. I buy from amazon and have everything in amazon cloud, then transfer the music to various devices before sending them to their retirement home i.e. my car boot.

Yep. I only download tracks, most of them singles. but next year i won't buy CDs too often, This year i got my first iphone and i'm a little bit addicted

Edit: This year i bought 18 Physical and three on itunes, 2012 i bought 30-35 all CDs

Of course I do, I'm a collector and I love to have physical copies.

I mainly like to buy the ones from Indie/rock/alternative bands and I never miss my Now compilations :D

The last CDs I bought were The Killers Direct Hits, Keane Best Of Keane, Now 86 and Kings Of Leon Mechanical Bull.

Right enough I did buy Direct Hits as an XMas present for my dad this month!

It's a nice package, even the standard edition comes with a lovely booklet. I hope your dad is enjoying it ^_^

I still buy a lot of cd's, i check them out first though by downloading and then only purchase good albums, gone are the days of buying albums that ended up awful outside the singles.

I'm annoyed we don't own the music we buy off itunes..that we are technically renting it.

For my fave bands/singers I will go out and buy the CD.

:cheer: I bought my copy online through a UK retailer, dunno if it counts towards its total sales

I always buy physical CD where possible. I'm not into downloading albums at all and also love buying CD singles when they are available. I still think its a shame they have largely stopped and feel downloading is far inferior. During this year, Ive bought significantly less albums in first 9 months due to lack of new releases that have interested me. However, I'd say Ive bought more albums in the last 3 months but some are reissues or remastered albums from 80s acts like Bananarama and Belinda Carlisle. I love buying remastered albums as they usually include unreleased tracks, b sides and remixes not previously available on CD.
