Reinvention was a neat idea and all but not desperate for a rerun of it. Definitely want Worldvision to continue being annual tho! And I hope some non-European countries make a return in Worldvision III :P

Another idea, I would be intrigued with a 'shuffle' spin off where countries are given a certain time to confirm participation and then the countries are all shuffled and we are given one at random to recycle a past artist from. This way it means everyone who enters will get to see an artist of theirs recycled

Oh that sounds like a pretty cool idea! Would be very interested to see how that plays out.

I also want the Cats/Dogs spin off, I am 10000% a dog person but I have a cat potential. Someone pointed out how the intro of one of my fave songs sounds like a bunch of sped up meows, now I cant unhear it.

Cameron's idea sounds really good, similar to the one I suggested a while ago that took place on another forum where everyone nominates one artist and everyone gets one of the artists that was nominated. Maybe people would prefer this recycling twist on it, it sounds fun.

 

What about something where everyone is assigned a particular year and they have to find a song from that year?

I'm still waiting for my Scandi spin off. Me, Adam & Rich as panel and everything without a keychange is banned. In true MF style there will be a pimp slot for the song with the most key changes. *.*

 

 

What would you even send for a Cats v Dogs spin off? That's a 100% non starter I'm afraid. Way too narrow a theme.

 

I do have concerns about a tv theme tho as you'll end up with 5min things competing against 30secs of music.

I like the idea for sure. There's some things that'd need to be worked out, especially with how you take into account the old guard and recent debutants. And then there's pre-veto artists to consider as well.

 

It's worth adding to the list but will need some thought to really make it work well.

Oh yeah, in terms of people who have sent artists who have become massive in the past years, those would have to be vetoed. Like a rule "artist cannot have had a top 40 UK hit or album" or something like that, and then obviously with countries such as Buzzjack Mountain if they enter, you cannot really send an artist by them... so maybe countries with the experience (ie Kylienips, Espen, etc) can be shared more than once for those countries with entries under 5 artists

Ya exactly. That's why I say it'd need a bit of thought to ensure that we got all that right to ensure it's a great event. Coz it does sound like it would be a fun spin off.

I agree with Phil, that's definitely my favourite suggestion of the past few pages - and there were quite a few good ones!

 

Meanwhile in the resource centre, the spin-off stats are now fully up-to-date and revamped to match the revamped stats thread in the main forum that happened a few months ago. That does mean I've introduced some stats the spin-offs didn't have before, but I haven't worked out who the record holders are so bear with me for that but all of the existing stats are up-to-date.

 

If anyone wants to volunteer to work out who the record holders are for one or all of the stats which have nothing next to them then feel free!
