October 30, 20241 yr Some we haven't done before (to my knowledge): - Scandipop (basically anything from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, or Scandinavian by proxy" countries like other Nordic countries (Iceland, Finland, Faroes, Greenland) and possibly even the Baltics (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) We actually did this spin-off idea back in 2017! It was called Schlagerfest and was hosted by Silas ^_^ Voting/Song Thread | Results Thread for the contest. Would love to see this one back in some way. (I would not mind hosting Schlagerfest/Scandpop (or one of your other ideas that you mentioned in your list), but it would not happen untill early next year at best)

October 30, 20241 yr Have to agree tbh, I'm not that keen on foreign language as well as I feel like it can be quite similar to worldvision Masquerade might be good to do now that we have a few new countries this year as it gives them a chance to look into the BJSC history a bit What if we did a scavenger hunt where there's say 30 or so different things like "a song with a colour in the title", "a song from 2005" etc (it could legit be anything) and then each thing is randomly assigned to each participant kind of like worldvision but with song criteria? People can even submit category ideas.

December 19, 20241 yr Has there ever been a spin-off theme for DNQs? :unsure: TBO Rejects! ☺️ But not in years, and never have I participated in one. The mods aren't keen to return to TBO themed events anymore.
December 20, 20241 yr TBO Rejects is good for giving those songs that didn't qualify another chance but if it's between that and another contest where we'd have the opportunity to make new discoveries then I'd prefer that, personally.
March 5, 20251 yr If anyone is looking for another Reinvention spinoff, confirmations are now open for the song contest in the 20th Century Retro forum which has a similar theme this time, it's Cover Versions. The cover can be from any era with the original being a top 40 hit from the 20th Century.

October 21, 2025Oct 21 I don't know if this kinda thing has been done (and I wouldn't want to host myself) but I've been chatting BJSC and remembered that I've had this idea pop up for years to have a contest where everyone sends two songs, perhaps by the same artist (but maybe not necessarily). I guess it's partly inspired by when I've wanted to send two songs by the same artist and find it painful to let one song go as I don't want to self-recycle. 🤭It would probably end up being quite large, so you could have semis like in regular BJSC. And everyone has two chances to do well or whatever.Just putting it out there. ☺️

October 21, 2025Oct 21 I know I'm just back but I guess I'm not completely opposed to the idea of hosting (some version of) BJSC sometime as I won one and passed it on, and then years later was offered the chance again when I came 3rd (I guess the first two people passed) and passed it on again. I just remember how unbelievably nervous I was during hosting Unknown Pleasures (Club Bizarre felt a bit better I think), which I know is quite normal but I even revealed the winner too early which freaked me out LOL
