January 8, 201411 yr WAKE ME UP IS INCREDIBLE YOU STUPID PEOPLE I do love I Could Be The One as well though. Hey Brother is DISGUSTING though :( Edited January 8, 201411 yr by G R I F F
January 8, 201411 yr Surprised at Royals being that high :o Glad though. Yay for Wrecking Ball too, still as stunning as in first listen!
January 8, 201411 yr Two fab songs there, glad they're both top 10! Kinda expected Burn to be lower as it's not her best received track on here. Imagine if ACH got #1 :o ACH is her best song, and had it got to no.1, well, anything could have happened with the votin!
January 9, 201411 yr I think it's very clear that Get Lucky will be number 1, althought I find very boring now it's been milked to the core.
January 9, 201411 yr 'I Love It' still to come? :D (I had a skim read through so can't be certain) 'Animals' should have been higher! Oh, and I Could Be The One >>>> Wake Me Up (though I do like 'Wake Me Up')
January 10, 201411 yr Author 6th ~ Avicii - Wake Me Up ~ 3890 points IcrbM1l_BoI Highest score: 150 (x5) -10s: Four 5th ~ Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith - La La La ~ 4000 points 3O1_3zBUKM8 Highest score: 150 (x3) -10s: One 4th ~ Katy Perry - Roar ~ 4210 points CevxZvSJLk8 Highest score: 150 (x6) -10s: Three Three of the biggest hits of 2013 starting with the fastest selling single, "Wake Me Up". Featuring uncredited vocals from Aloe Blacc, Swede Avicii had a huge Worldwide hit on his hands which became overplayed very quickly (maybe why it attracts a fair share of hate along with all the love it gets). "La La La" is our first entry in the top 5, with vocals from the latest 'Sound Of...' winner, Sam Smith. The video is ICONIC and I still love the song (tad hypocritical given how airplay killed Wake Me Up for me :kink:), it's a catchy tune without being too in-your-face, quite the opposite of Katy Perry's fantastic comeback single "Roar". Everyone probably expected this to be top 3 but nope. We're left with a top three of JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, ICONA POP & DAFT PUNK. Top 3 revealed in a single post soon enough...
January 10, 201411 yr Well, my two least favourites of the top 6 out first but "Roar" deserved top 3. Hope "I Love It" doesn't win, it's decent enough but not a patch on the other two.
January 10, 201411 yr 'Roar' going out pretty much confirms Icona Pop have won :( Daft Punk COULD still do it but I doubt it.
January 10, 201411 yr I Love It is overrated (great, but overrated), but not even half as much as Get Lucky. Definitely my least favourite song of the year, let alone out of just #1s!
January 10, 201411 yr great top 3 <3 Get Lucky ftw though please (not sure it will though) and La La La  so glad that became huge Edited January 10, 201411 yr by SevenSeize
January 11, 201411 yr Author 3rd ~ Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX - I Love It ~ 4390 points UxxajLWwzqY Highest score: 150 (x6) -10s: Two 2nd ~ Justin Timberlake - Mirrors ~ 5060 points uuZE_IRwLNI Highest score: 150 (x2) -10s: One 1st ~ Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky ~ 5260 points 5NV6Rdv1a3I Highest score: 150 (x8) -10s: Three There we have it! The huge summer smash "I Love It" from Swedish duo Icona Pop wasn't even close to the all-male top two (first time we've had one of them). Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" stormed the charts when released back in April and is better than our previous winner (Somebody That I Used To Know) but is still extremely overrated (in my opinion of course). Justin Timberlake is our runner-up with easily his biggest hit of the era, "Mirrors", which became a multi-week #1 last March. It didn't get as much major love but it doesn't seem to divide opinion quite as much. Thanks to everyone who has been reading and who voted. Sorry the results got stretched out over a week as that wasn't the original intention. :P
January 11, 201411 yr Icona Pop in 3rd place :o I got tired of the track pretty quickly in the end. Great #1 track though Thanks Jack for hosting the annual thread
January 11, 201411 yr Great top two, would have preferred "Mirrors" to win but both are great and "Get Lucky" will be more remembered as the sound of 2013.
