First listen and i quite like.

 

Rihanna might just steal it for me, her verse is fab. The "kissing in the moonlight" parts are delicious and the middle-8 onwards is brilliant too.

It's starting to grow on me, but I'm still disappointed after a few listens.

eek. not the best Shakira-Shakira has done but not the worst either.

 

at least it feels a bit more authentic to her artistry than those Hips Don't Like or Waka Waka. Still waiting on another Don't Bother (even if only an album track or b-side idc)

Hmmmm. I was hoping for something a bit more dancey or clubby. Like Only Girl In The World, or Where have You Been. This is a bit too latin for my tastes, and apart from the chorus, which I like, the rest of the song is "meh" for me. Maybe it'll grow on me.

Rihanna's part is definitely the best in the song IMO. The chorus is growing on me too - I can see this being a top 10 hit in the UK if it gets a proper push.

The song is good, I expected it to do much better on iTunes - especially with it being on air / on sale. I'm suspecting it might get to #08 this week? Hopefully it manages to stick around the charts for a while.

I've never been a fan of Shakira but this is by FAR her best song.

I like this! It's not as good as expected but then I was probably expecting something up to the standards of 'Beautiful Liar', which was a Beyonce song and this isn't so that's an unfair comparison to make. It is a grower and I like their voices on it. I wasn't expecting the reggae influence but maybe that's Shakira doing her best to get RiRi on board.

Beyonce and Freemason Remixes are like the musical version of salt and pepper. JUST SO RIGHT.

The Beautiful Liar / Ring the Alarm one-two Freemasons punch is astonishing. Life altering, in fact.

 

Anyway this is lodged in my head now. I don't get Lee's point at all. Being on air/on sale is a disadvantage in the UK. 6 on iTunes is great for now.

I actually thought it would be higher by now, but #6 is still respectable considering Shakira hasn't had a hit in a while.

Tbh I think it's doing really well to have reached #6.. Although I'm taking every opportunity to hate on the song, I have listened to it quite a lot today...

I love this and I'm Just glad it's not another beautiful liar :D
