Cannot believe (well, I can, just goes to show how tasteless One Direction fans are :angry:) 'Gotta Be You' placed last here... It may accordingly be their worst single, but I wouldn't say at all it's the worst song of their three-album discography. There's a fair few travesties on 'Up All Night' ('Take Me Home' and 'Midnight Memories' touch upon perfection minus the bonus tracks from the former). I wouldn't even place it last on their singles, but it is such a strong discography! Oh well, we won't say it's the "worst", just "least favourite" BECAUSE IT SOUNDS BETTER. Zayn in the video as well = to die for. Watching the video before posting this actually brought memories back of when I thought Liam was the best member in the band and that he was flawless etc. How times have changed (and how he no longer is). :kink:
Just above 'Gotta Be You' is an album track from the début, 'Same Mistakes'. Is it bad that I don't actually remember much about this (like most of 'Up All Night' minus the singles and 'Up All Night' - and 'More Than This' if Joseph wants to be pedantic x)? Oops. Probably a great song and not worthy of being as low as it is, but oh well.

So we enter what's probably the blandest section of the rate. None of these made all that much of an impact on me and Loved You First is the only one I can remember. :blush: The three TMH Asian bonus tracks are let down due to not everyone rating them, and the same for the other two but to a lower extent. I'm not gonna write as much as Calum did above simply cause I've not got that much to say but yeah. :P

I quite like 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' and 'Magic', but the rest are really forgettable (only Zayn saves them :kink:).

Good to get the deadwood out of the way first, can see why they're all bonus tracks. 'Magic' is half decent though.

What Makes You Beautiful is going to win this isn't it?

Breaking into the top 50 now and at the very bottom we have another forgettable track from the début (Jáhq's probably gonna kill me for saying that :kink:). Sadly dropping out just above that is the 2013 Comic Relief charity single 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)' - HOW did that even get not one but two -1's? Makes no sense. Amazing cover, much better than the original, and it works so well! Obviously the best thing about it is Zayn's voice, Zayn in the video and Zayn on the cover (or both covers if you count 'the other one'). 'She's Not Afraid', one of the bonus tracks from 'Take Me Home' is here as well, but not really that memorable - none of them really are, but we've got most of the blandness out of the way already, so all goodness to come from here on in!
Now is the heartbreaking bit... Two tracks from 'Midnight Memories' unfortunately slip out of the running... 'Something Great' first, and it translates exactly what the title says... Something great, a nice little song. By no means the best on the album but it's nicer than the likes of 'Through the Dark' and 'Better Than Words' (even though both are fantastic in their own ways!). 'Alive', one of the deluxe tracks on the album, is my third favourite of the four. Still a fantastic song, and it sounds like such a Harry song - one I can imagine him recording if he was ever to go solo!

I'm shocked at this section! OWOA is one of the better tracks from the TMH era, in my opinion. Something Great is almost ruined by Louis screeching at the end but otherwise is a really good song and as the Louis bit is riiiight at the end it can easily be skipped. Alive is the best bonus track on MM and ought to have been on the main album..

I wouldn't go that far personally but at least there's another fan, one of my favourites from that particular album! Deserved more.

 

Something Great beating two fab songs <_< Everything About You didn't click right away but it's just so catchy and happy. :wub: The video for OWOA is like the definition of fun too.

All of the album tracks on 'Take Me Home' (excluding 'Rock Me') definitely slay it, and there's a couple of better on 'Midnight Memories' as well, but it's definitely v v good! ^_^

That should be ESPECIALLY 'Rock Me' :o

 

Surprised 'I Want' is quite so low and even beaten by the massively under-appreciated 'Nobody Compares' (can't say that did too badly being on the verge of the top 40 though).

No. :P admittedly it has been growing on me when I've been listening to Take Me Home, but it's definitely one of the weakest in the whole of their discography. :kink:
