Crying for No Reason looks like it's going to smash. I'm thinking top 3. It's a shame this success wasn't for 3AM, which I much prefer as a song, but I'm glad she's going to have a proper hit before the album is out nonetheless.

You mean 5AM I guess? :kink:

But I'm feeling the exact same way. Glad she's getting a hit before the album, but 5AM was so much better.

Getting my Katy Bs and my Busteds mixed up. Happens.

Have preordered the Katy B song and never do that. Really is a great tune.

How is the Shane Filan song not top 40.

Katy will be performing on Graham Norton on Friday, which I think will guarantee her at least a top 5. She's also got live lounge next week.

Re: Shane Filan - Why is it expected to do so well? I never would have expected a post-album single of his to be doing this well as it is. Am I missing something?!

Riptide top 10  That should easily help it in there officially this week at least, I was seriously worried this was gonna have a Jason Mraz style run, hopefully there's still time for it be huge.
Pharrell performing at the Brits. :D Return to #1?

That would literally be the worst thing ever.

Wonder if anyone's gonna perform a new song like JT and Adele have in the past, that seems to be where the biggest boosts come from (or maybe an Only Love type boost for another track, Tom Odell could get that if he ends up performing and doesn't do Another Love?).

Katy B doing amazing. Is it too much to ask for it to "do A Robyn" and become a surprise number 1? :o

Maybe if it wasn't released in the same week as Gorgon City :P Though as I said the other day I don't think they're even gonna get #1 now. Katy B should get a very high selling #3/4 though and it looks like will.i.am will have to settle for #5, oops.

No one expected it to do well at all? If you're responding to the above post I would assume CruelIntentions is a fan and not genuinely expecting it to be top 40.

If that happened *.* Pharrell setting all the records.

Ah ok, thanks. I think I read comments to that effect somewhere else as well and thought I'd really underestimated him. Knee Deep In My Heart is likely to out peak his last single anyway, which would be a good achievement.

I honestly can't see will.i.am charting lower than #4, with the amount of build-up/airplay its had (pushing the release back was incredibly pointless though of course)

Hoping for Katy B to reach the top 5, but i'm expecting around #7/8 next week, hopefully with some decent longevity with the album release etc.

85. Katy B - Crying for No Reason

Hope this can really spike up by the end of the week, plenty of time for it to get as high as say ~#60 which would be huge.

Even if you hate the track you would have to admit it would be an incredible chart feat.

Somebody on here said if it happened it would be the first track since the 1950s to do so.

I believe it was Frankie Laine.

I'm still holding out for "Do I Wanna Know?" jumping into the top 10 for the first time but it's not going to happen especially given they're opening the show so viewing figures won't be at their peak.

If we counted streaming it would have had a ridiculous chart run. And by ridiculous I mean "Ho Hey".

I think pretty much all the alternative/indie songs would have much longer chart runs, and also higher peaks, if we included streaming. Also a lot more of their album tracks would make the chart, since the thing with streaming is that people who listen to an album are really contributing a stream for each song to the singles chart.

Surprised no one has mentioned this, another campaign this time using the song 'raining men' the original version. It has already received a lot of backing, being on tv news slots and all over the newspapers. I reckon this could challenge for number one next week the rate the campaign is growing.

What, that Will.i.Am song is actually predicted to do well?

I like it because it is so bad it's kinda good  .

What UKIP gay marriage row?

Still 'It's Raining Men' is currently no.140 on iTunes, and I wouldn't expect this to be in the top 1500, so this campaign, whatever it must be having an effect.

Edit: Just looked this up and I remember hearing about this now, the UKIP guy who thought that the recent flooding had been caused by Cameron's stance on gay marriage. 100% looney tunes :)
