I'm not feeling Now 85, tbh. But Now 30 Years, being the spectacular compilation it is, sort of makes it up for it.
It's the 'no rap edit' of Blurred Lines that will feature on here, T.I. won't be credited! I didn't even know such a version existed, but I guess they must play that one on Radio 2.

I think they play it on Radio 1 as well. I've heard that version on there before at least.

Yeah, I've never heard the rap version of Blurred Lines on the radio.

The rap version is always played on Capital!

I clearly haven't been listening to Capital FM for a long time then  Radio 1 and 2 always cut it out

So predictable and any disco fan will surely own all of those already. As for Now 85, I'm loving it, Passenger's Let Her Go seems so much faster than the version I'm accustomed with, I guess the pitch and pace were ramped up for the radio mix a la Damien Rice's Cannonball. It's also very jarring to hear 'I threw your stuff into a bag' instead of 'shit' and 'chick' instead of 'bitch' on the Icona Pop song!

All these themed compilation albums are getting a bit stale now as they all seem to have similar songs, just seems a bit of a rip off to me!

Agreed on Icona Pop, when I hear the clean version I just shout out the rude words as loud as I can haha those are the original lyrics so they shouldn't be messed with, I've heard worse swear words than that coming from the mouths of 10/11 year olds and those younger age groups who the Now albums are predominately aimed at!!

Finally got NOW 85 today! It's great, only on disc 1 but I'm really enjoying it. Been doing some cleaning to it.
Just want somewhere to put these opening sales:

Now 70: 383,041

Now 71: 240,382 (This time two years ago)

Now 72: 299,002

Now 73: 274,661

Now 75: 253,081

Now 76: 249,195

Now 77: 334,000

HUGE sales! :o Biggest since Now 70!

UPDATE:

Now 79: ~300,000

Now 80: 296,000+

Now 81: 255,386

Now 82: 267,618

Now 83: 295,789

Now 85: ~317,000

Is Now 44 still the biggest selling Now album ever? How many copies did it sell on first week?

Apparently so...

Now That's What I Call Music! 44 or Now 44 was released in 1999. The album is the 44th edition of the (UK) Now! series and the biggest selling Now album of all time, having sold over 2.3 million copies and becoming the 46th best selling album in UK chart history (joint 41st)

Not sure about it's first week sales though.

"Pop-country hit 'Hey Porsche'"

Is it just me or does "Antenna" end like half a second too early?

Is Now 44 still the biggest selling Now album ever? How many copies did it sell on first week?

It sold 278,000 copies in its first week - but increased that to 290,000 copies in week 2.

I put that bit in Wikipedia about five years ago :D It then sold right through the Christmas period well into early 2000, getting that 2 million.

I think Now 47 is the second-biggest? That or Now 50.

Something sounds different in the vocals on Chris Malinchaks 'So Good To Me'.

Anyone know?
