I think Cheryl has a backbone this series, she didn't put that Linzi girl through last weekend on sympathy and didn't give the travesty girl a chance even though she proved she could sing. As much as I love Mel B, I wish she were a bit more strict with contestants etc

A third show for a Friday has been announced.

Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor are set to clash again after ITV decided to schedule the Simon Cowell talent show three times a week – on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

The two entertainment shows are due to go head-to-head on Friday on 26 September, when the first Strictly live show is broadcast.

It will be the first time The X Factor has run on three consecutive nights and comes after the launch episode of the new series of Strictly beat its ITV rival last Sunday night.

Strictly drew 8.4 million viewers, compared with the 7.6 million who watched the ITV talent search.

ITV said the addition of Friday nights – sometimes occupied by Strictly’s first live show – had always been planned and had nothing to do with Sunday’s events.

An ITV source said: “The plan to strip Boot Camp and Judges Houses across three nights has been in place for some time [before we saw the Strictly launch night billing]. Boot Camp and Judges Houses are always longer shows, and this year we don’t have the space to accommodate a long show on Sundays for these stages, so we have decided instead to strip the shows across three nights.”

While there is always a danger that scheduling more episodes can test viewers’ appetite for a show that has suffered declining ratings for the past couple of years, ITV will also be looking at the overall performance of its new autumn line-up performs.

This month on Sunday nights, it has the eagerly-anticipated return of Downton Abbey on 21 September and the re-launched variety show Sunday Night at the London Palladium, which begins this weekend.

The final exchange of television schedules between broadcasters for the week beginning Saturday 20 September is due to take place later on Wednesday, but both ITV and BBC look set to stick to their guns.

Source.

A tiny part of me believes the plan for three nights was always there, as that's how they do it on X Factor AU.
They don't need 3 programmes for Boot Camp or Judges Houses. They can easily cut it down due to all the dragged out montages/sob stories/fake drama.
The Courtisans... amazing.... :D Cheryl's face was priceless
I hate how doing something different is ballading an uptemo. This isn't the Borelow years. If she really wanted to do it different she should have rapped it or something.
To me that just showed she wanted to sing Whitney but didn't have the voice for it so sang a slow, easy version of an upbeat song to suit her. I liked her though.
Amy might not be an all consuming Beyoncé esque force on stage, but Jesus how on earth did they have the nerve to send her home when the Courtisans flew through?!
I don't suppose anyone could tell me the name of the song that played towards the end of Amy's arena audition? It sounded like Birdy but I don't know what song it was if it was her!

And I just thought how on earth did the new Same Difference get through to Boot Camp, Mel B "My kids are going to love you"

This season seems more exploitative than normal; Amy being crushed and the random Cheryl "lookalike" person who was essentially just taken the piss out of. It really bothers me and is a huge reason why I hate this show sometimes.
Thank Christ Amy's gone. Now just that other pest Paul Akister left, and hopefully he's ditched again and judges' houses.
What an awful girl group, how on earth did they get through.
This girl group are obv from an episode I missed. They look hilariously slutty even now.

They're like a pound shop version of The Vamps. It scares me that that's possible :/

The song is just diabolical :manson:

Overload... The new One Direction :magic:
