Most of them did make sense as they were either acts from the show or very popular acts, but having Sam Smith AGAIN on the final with nothing to promote was absolutely ridiculous. At least Photograph could be Ed's next single and 1D sang an album track to sell a recent album.

Meghan Trainor didn't make much sense either but at least she was a new face!

they all made sense individually but when you put them all together on a razz and dazz singing contest you are getting quite safe songs that can only offer safe performances and that doesn't make for great entertainment. i hope this we meet the saturation point with white young male solo albums, between them all they really don't offer much in anything to me, it's all very pleasurable in the short term but defines banal and safe--in terms of context in 10 years from what will really be remembered looked upon as stalwart classics?

in all honesty given the indifference between all of this year's guests to my mind take that's performance really stood out, that kind of staging and conclusion it's 'performance' and good entertainment. 2014 has generally been a weird year for pop releases, the year i think will be looked back at totally whitewash of banality for the most. 2015 already looks a hell of a bit better in the first three months compared with this entire year!

'Thinking Out Loud' most definitely (speaking as someone who's sick of that song and was never blown away by it in the first place).

This forum just hates Ed because he is a male who isn't 'attractive'.

Thinking out loud will be remember years from now as will Stay with me.

I don't think that is the problem. From what I've read around the forum, it looks like the main problem is that it's just hard to distinguish one song to the next with him which makes his songs a little.. :P I mean I was on board with 'Sing' and 'Don't' because they were different but 'Thinking Out Loud' was typical Ed Sheeran for me.

The thing is though, who else could they have got to perform? Taylor Swift okay, but she was also on the live shows earlier in the year too! Mark Ronson & Bruno Mars perhaps too might have gone down well, but I think something happened behind the scenes there. I'm sure the producers would have loved a Rihanna/Beyonce/Britney type figure, but none of them have released anything this year, and I'm not sure any wanted (or would be paid enough) to perform. But at the end of the day are the performing acts the main selling point of the show? Nope! They're just an added extra.
exactly, ed has his fans here and quite a remarkable given buzzjack subculture and i have many many male acts/bands/artists i like. it's as has been said, a lot of it is indistinguishable and all of this very standard singer-songwriter ilk doesn't lend itself to being remembered like other genre hits as it's more ambience not about perf.

Bitch please, he's lovely.

Tbh I just think most are completely biased against Ed because he is male. Ella gets huge praise and hype on here and from what I've heard of her album it is basic singer/songwriter fair. Yep she had Ghost and it is a great song but then so is Don't.

Also since when has being a songwriter been a negative?

Ella's actually had quite different songs on her album. It's also most likely because she has a bigger fan base on here than Ed. George Ezra is male, yet I love him and a handful of members like him here. It just depends how big the fan base for each artist is, if ones bigger than the other it's not a bias, it's just how Buzzjack works.

Aside, There aren't a lot of people who are bashing Uptown Funk which is sang by a male

Sam Smith has a different situation, he constantly promotes the same song all he time which is going to be off-putting for some members.

My main problem with Ed is I find him arrogant, which puts me off him. Since he is blown up everywhere, I think his ego has went through the roof and I notice that in interviews. So for me it is nothing to do with him being male.

It's just different demographics.

I walk in to the office today and everyone is just talking about Ben. How they liked Fleur but Ben was much better on the night and they're glad he won, but everyone acknowledged Fleur would be successful regardless. But if you listen to BuzzJack (not just BuzzJack, a lot of entertainment based websites are guilty of this) then it's the opposite way round. Just different tastes and different demographics.

EXACTLY.

Dont is a prime example of this. He is an arrogant self righteous prick and it comes across in interviews I have seen of his too. All of his music sounds like it is catered to radio too, much like Maroon 5 and The Script. I just find it awfully boring but there is always unfortunately going to be a market for it with bored housewives and easily impressed girls.

I just don't get this at all, he has come across as nothing but humble to me. That to me just feels like reaching for an excuse to dislike him.

Can you name me anything he has said in interviews which would make you feel that way.

I mean let's compare him to say Cheryl, who slags off her old band mate, has had spats with other singers, releases a song basically saying FU to people. It just seems utterly irrational for so many people to dislike Ed for such flimsy reasons and other artists get support that to me seem much worse.

Why does ed Sheeran get all the hate when Sam Smith is whining his way up the charts?

I think Sam Smith is much more humble and his songs are more relatable. I still think Money On My Mind and Stay With Me are nauseating but there is something to him and doesnt seem quite as generic and as boring as Ed.

I shouldn't love Ed, but I do. I just cannot abide even a second of Sam Smith's whining aside from Latch, la La La and maybe I'm Not The Only One. Ed's voice is much nicer to listen to and I don't think he's arrogant. In fact, this sounds stupid but Sam seems overly humble and that really really irritates me.
I could understand people not liking Sam's voice as it is very marmite, that is a fair point in my eyes. Sometimes I like it then others it goes through me.

Well that's your opinion, people don't necessary have to agree with them.

I never had a problem with him personality-wise but there are times where I'm like, 'okay?'.

I see what you mean with Cheryl, but even with her I don't think she has THAT much support out of the Girls Aloud forum. I don't like her because of her personality actually.

You've used 'Don't' as an example before of his supposed arrogance and smugness yet female artists such as Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea (both of whose music is absolutely full of these traits) are generally celebrated here (and it's the same with bitchy female Big Brother contestents etc) because this arrogance makes them 'fierce queens'! This is way off-topic but something I've noticed about there being a definite female bias on Buzzjack with regard to personalities. 'Don't' is a song about being screwed over - give the guy a break.
