Posted February 4, 201412 yr Single & Album Summary Looks like Clean Bandit are aiming for a 3rd week at #1, unless DJ Fresh and his friends can pull something out of a jiffy bag. Lana Del Rey is expected to drop a single tomorrow, apart from that its a poor week for new single releases. Other possible new entries to the 40 come from Lorde with her new track 'Team', Rihanna 'What Now', Demi Lovato 'Let It Go' and DJ Stay The Night which is a fake version of Zedd's upcoming single with Hayley Williams due for release next weekend. Rihanna "What Now" is back in the chart because the track is been used as a Trailer ad for ITV. [/stop asking] :D As for the albums, Bombay Bicycle Club are most likely to grab the #1 album this week, other new album releases come from Broken Bells, Within Temptation, Suzanne Vega, Tina Turner, Maximo Park, The Augustines and Seth Lakeman. ======================================================= Please note new changes to the Sunday Chart Predictions thread topic: Tuesday/Thursday - There will be no mids from MW for Tuesday and Thursday. February 4, 201412 yr Author Midweek Charts: Bombay Bicycle Club pedalling to No 1 Source: MW by Paul Williams Bombay Bicycle Club look like achieving their first ever UK No 1 album with So Long See You Tomorrow currently leading the midweeks. The Island band's fourth album is presently outselling its nearest rival by more than two copies to one, according to the Official Charts Company, while on singles Clean Bandit should secure a third week at No 1. Bombay Bicycle Club have to date visited the UK Top 10 twice, reaching No 8 in 2010 with Flaws and No 6 in 2011 with A Different Kind Of Fix, all without ever having a Top 40 single. This remains the case with the new album with introductory track Carry Me having only risen as high as No 81, although follow-up Luna is new at 73 in the midweeks. Independent Dramatico will follow Katie Melua and Carlo Emerald by having another act break the UK Top 10. The latest are Dutch rock band Within Temptation, whose sound is described as "symphonic metal" and who are new at 2 in the week to date with Hydra. This is their sixth studio album with their previous effort, 2011's The Unforgiving, having provided them with a new chart peak of No 23 in the UK. There are three other brand new albums among the Top 10 positions at this stage of the week, led at No 6 by Maximo Park's new set Too Much Information. The group's fifth album and issued on the Daylighting label, it is aiming to become the group's third Top 10 hit and follows The National Health, which reached No 13 in 2012. US rock duo Broken Bells, who comprise Danger Mouse and The Shins' lead singer James Mercer, are new at 7 with their second Columbia album After The Disco, while UK folk man Seth Lakeman's first Cooking Vinyl offering Word Of Mouth is new at 9. You Me At Six last Sunday gave the new BMG its first ever No 1 album with Cavalier Youth, but it drops to No 8 in the midweeks with sales falling 84%. Postiva/PRMD act Avicii climb 4-3 with True, Polydor's Ellie Goulding is down 2-4 with Halycon and the RCA-handled Beyonce self-titled album is down 3-5. Sophie Ellis-Bextor completes the Top 10 with Wanderlust on the EBGB's label declining 5-10. Following his Super Bowl set, Atlantic act Bruno Mars' Unorthodox Jukebox lifts 32-17 with sales up 86%, while five places below it Suzanne Vega is heading for her first charting album in the UK since 1996 with the Cooking Vinyl-handled Tales From The Ream Of The Queen Of Pentacles. There are also brand new entries in the Top 40 from Augustines via Votiv and Universal's Caroline operation, Rhino with a Tina Turner compilation amd Nuclear Blast's Behemoth. Atlantic act Clean Bandit have now surpassed 300,000 UK sales of their single Rather Be, which has a lead of more than 10,000 sales in the midweeks and should secure a third week at No 1 this Sunday. Directly below the track, which features Jess Glynne, is Ministry of Sound act DJ Fresh who is a new entry at No 2 with Dibby Dibby Sound featuring Jay Fay and Ms Dynamite. It should easily become his fifth UK Top 10 hit. Dibby Dibby Sound is the only brand new release to make the Top 40 at this point in the week, although several have climbed into this part of the chart, including Def Jam/Virgin EMI act Rihanna who is up 53-20 with What Now. RCA-handled Happy by Pharrell Williams holds at 3 as Interscope/Polydor act will.i.am drops 2-4 with Feelin' Myself featuring a multitude of names including Miley Cyrus and Wiz Khalifa. Another RCA track, Timber by Pitbull featuring Kesha, is back up 6-5, while Virgin act Gorgon City are down 4-6 with Ready For Love featuring MNEK and Rinse/Columbia's Katy B drops 5-7 with Crying For No Reason. RCA's Neon Jungle lose a place to No 8 with Braveheart as Interscope/Polydor's OneRepublic move into the Top 10 with If I Lose Myself and Positiva/PRMD's Avicii is down 8-10 with Hey Brother. The Top 40's biggest sales gainer is RCA act Shakira's Can't Remember To Forget You featuring Rihanna. It rises 38-15 with sales improving 233%. The track featuring Jess Glynne had sold nearly 300,000 copies across its first two weeks and so far this week has added another 70,000 units to that tally to safely put it on course for No 1 again, according to the Official Charts Company. The last Atlantic single to be at No 1 longer was Estelle featuring Kanye West's American Boy, which began a four-week run ruling the chart in March 2008. February 4, 201412 yr I think Clean Bandit have the number one in the bag, but on what sales?? I'm hoping for 105-110k but I'd love to see it get a third week in 6 figures! DJ Fresh will be top 3 by Sunday, otherwise a really quiet week which is frustrating but March looks like being another big month for new releases
February 4, 201412 yr Hopefully happy can clear 800k by sunday It'll be a million seller come March at this rate! :o And it's nowhere near dying off yet! I'm on the Clean Bandit train this week! DJ Fresh is awful!
February 4, 201412 yr Hope Rather Be can clear 100k for a third week - that would be immense! Thinking DJ Fresh will be around 70k at best if its below Happy and it sold 80k last week!

February 4, 201412 yr Sound City? As in the film that came out last year about the studio? How odd. BBC should be looking at 20k-ish then, solid.
February 4, 201412 yr There could be a chance Demi Lovato's 'Let It Go' could make the top 40 this week, it has consistently been just outside the top 40 on iTunes for the last few days (I believe it peaked at #41 yesterday evening) and has another version as well in the top 200.
February 4, 201412 yr Within Temptation *.* hope they can hold onto top 10. The Unforgiving ended up at #23 so if it can outpeak that i'll be happy.
February 4, 201412 yr Author Where is Sophie in the albums and singles, if you have the info? Single is down 1 place and the album is down 5 places.
February 4, 201412 yr Singles Clean Bandit #1 on sales of 33,7k, DJ Fresh at #2 on sales of 29,3k rest of the top 5 consists of Pharrell 8k behind, will and Pitbull. Rather Be was on 34k last Tuesday in the mids so could do 100k again unless it slows up alot - but there was a BB spring board which would have helped! William was on 44k last Tuesday but will have had probabaly more preorder hypes than DJ Fresh and he only did 97k through the week so im not sure what Dibby will do - probabaly around 75k!
February 4, 201412 yr Yay for DJ Fresh at #2 :D He'll probably end up at #3 officially but that's still good! By the way does anyone know why Rihanna 'What Now' is back in the top 20? It seems random that it's having such a boost
February 4, 201412 yr Author By the way does anyone know why Rihanna 'What Now' is back in the top 20? It seems random that it's having such a boost  for the 999th time it has been used as a trailer for ITV dramas I've lost count how many times this question has been asked
February 4, 201412 yr for the 999th time it has been used as a trailer for ITV dramas I've lost count how many times this question has been asked  of course I knew that, I was joking as the question has come up too many times in the iTunes thread
