The weakest one left over for me is Monsters Inc. Which I still love. My top five would be the Toy Stories, Wall-E and Nemo. Though I think my personal favourite - Wall-E is coming next.

Wall-E is perhaps Pixar's most experimental film with the majority of it being focused on sound effects rather than the characters talking. This is because the main character, Wall-E, cannot actually talk and the film focuses a lot on his time on the abandoned Earth. It helps create a sense of loneliness so that the audience can emphasis with him when EVE arrives. Pixar is often known for including large ensemble casts which are often praised for the distinct personalities that help them to stand out and not feel unnecessary. Wall-E therefore marks a distinct change as it is mainly focuses on Wall-E. The film is also significant as it is the only film to feature real life footage, this feature means that the message that the film portrays hits harder. What makes Wall-E appeal so much to me is that it is both different to other Pixar films as well as the animated genre in general. I like this distinctiveness and how the magic of Pixar enabled the silent moments to still feel so compelling and up there amongst the very best bits of the film company. It was only the moments when Wall-E left Earth that let me down a bit as it ruined the charm and cleverness of the story preceding it for me. However, as we see technology advance in our society, the, at first ridiculous, prospect about humans seen in the film becomes more and more realistic as each day passes...

Perfection. The opening 20 minutes or whatever was such a bold move that it really stands apart from most animated films for me (though is still only in my top 10 of all time). It's a totally charming love story and also have a few interesting ideas about humanity and our future too, all dressed up in an uber stylish package.
This is horrifically overrated. It's ok but I really have no idea what's supposed to be so fantastic about it... :/
So many excellent things to say, but the brilliant social commentary made sticks in my mind
So overrated. I find it boring for the most part. It has a certain charm which is why it scores higher than Cars.

Absolutely wonderful film. My second favourite (to 'Nemo' obvz) and in my top 5 of all time I would think! Seriously STUNNING. Everything about it just drawed me in. Definitely my favourite Pixar character too! He's so adorable and lovely.
I'm sorry but I pretty much loathe the second half of the film. The first part is great, but it's truly a film of two halves.

Kinda shocking to see Wall-E that low, but I just remembered this IS a Pixar rate! I've always found it extremely overrated.

Also, I'd always considered The Incredibles to be one of the most forgotten ones, puzzled how it's beaten the likes of A Bugs Life and Ratatouille!

That's my main problem. I don't particularly dislike the second half but it doesn't come anywhere near how glorious it is before Wall-E leaves.

Rewatched The Incredibles this week, it's fab, and darker than I remembered, and the bit about "no capes!" is hilarious. It's already listed as one of my all-time Top 100 movies.

Wall-E is definitely going to be in my all-time Top 50 movies, it's touching, sentimental, has a serious message about human nature and the dark future it's rushing headlong into, but ends optimistically. There's not much in it to find fault with. And it's got Sigourney Weaver.

My prediction for the rest of the rate is:

6. Toy Story 2

5. Monsters Inc.

4. Up

3. Toy Story

2. Toy Story 3

1. Finding Nemo

Could be completely and utterly wrong though, it is so hard to tell! I think all of my predicted top 3 deserve to win.

I'm thinking:

06. 'Toy Story 2'

05. 'Monster's Inc'

04. 'Finding Nemo'

03. 'Up'

02. 'Toy Story'

01. 'Toy Story 3'

but in all fairness, I don't mind which one wins, they're all fantastic! Obviously I have my preferences, but it's not like my favourites left are against any non-worthy winners.

06. 'Toy Story 2'

05. 'Up'

04. 'Toy Story 3'

03. 'Monster's Inc'

02. 'Toy Story'

01. 'Finding Nemo'

For me it should be like this.

Personally, WALL-E was over rated, finding memo should go number one

The second film in the Toy Story franchise has been decided by you as the 'least best' although I think it might actually be my personal favourite! Disney initially ordered a sequel, due to the huge success of Toy Story, to be a 'direct-to-video' release that would last about 60 minutes. However, during development, Pixar weren't happy with the quality and took matters into their own hands by producing a sequel that would have a full release. It, thankfully, became one of the few sequels that is up there with the first's quality. The film sees a reversal of the first film as it is now Buzz trying to rescue Woody, this time from a crazed collector. It introduces some more toys to the large ensemble cast, but they don't feel lost at all amongst the crowd. One of these toys was the fabulous Mrs Potato Head who is hilarious in the 'out-takes' during the end credits, something that we sadly no longer have :( With all Pixar films, the animation cannot bettered and so I feel I'm being repetitive with comments like this but i just want to highlight the 'Wotsit' and airplane scenes in this film in particular as being some of my favourites for design. As pointed out by Haus in the previous thread, the film contains one of the saddest moments of any film, let alone an animated one, as we see the rise and fall of Emily and Jessie's relationship. It's possibly even sadder looking back on it as you have grown up and abandoned your childhood toys and it's something that becomes the main focus of the third film that was to be released 10 years later.

I was going to post this article later but, it's probably the most relevant here. It asks 'Who is Andy's mum?', a question that may not have initially occurred to you but it may blow your mind when you find out the answer. Please read it if you have any love for the films, it's worth it.

An improvement on the first, not that much improvement was needed. Really like the addition of Stinky Pete and the scenes with Buzz and Zurg in the lift are just brilliant.
this was a massive disappointment considering how fabulous 'Toy Story' was and still is
The weak link out of the three, but that's not a bad thing at all
Not as good as the first one, which was almost an impossible task anyway. Still very very good.
I always felt that Toy Story 2 was a bit of a disappointment. It was always overshadowed by the truely amazing original.

The weakest link in the trilogy i think (i switch daily) but that's no criticism. Still perfect and touching and funny in all the right measures.

And for one more time:

Don't show me that now.

I saw that article the other day - It wouldn't surprise me, it's typically sneaky of Pixar, a bit like Sid from the first movie being the garbageman in the third. My friend seemed to think that it was saying Andy's mum WAS Jessie

Oh wow at that theory! I love the little Disney Pixar theories that go around and I love the little things like the Pizza planet truck being in all (?) the Pixar films! But yes, not surprised at the second 'Toy Story' being the first to leave us (albeit in a brilliant position). It drags a little bit for me, which is why it's my least favourite of the three, but not too much that it completely ruins it! It's how many sequels SHOULD be done.
