If The Vamps are going to be criticised for who they're most likely appealing to, then we could easily do a similar sweeping statement for The Saturdays, claiming that their pop songs only appeal to young girls and gay guys. However, we know from this forum section alone that there's a bigger variety to their fan base than that, so I'm sure the same could be said for The Vamps too. They may have a wider appeal than you assume.

I'm not sure if they'll be #1 or not, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if they out-chart The Saturdays. There's also a couple of big dance songs out in the same week which I have a feeling will do better than either The Vamps or The Saturdays.

I'll also put in a prediction now: The Vamps' debut album will sell more than Wordshaker, On Your Radar and Living For The Weekend combined, and then some.

Considering me, my mates and my parents aren't gay I don't think that is entirely true but I do see your point :)

I completely agree. Obviously I prefer The Saturdays to The Vamps, but it's unfair for people to criticise them for who they appeal to, they're doing extremely well as a new band. I went to school with Connor, so I say deserve as much sucess as possible. :)

I think The Vamps will out-peak The Saturdays, - the saturdays just don't have the kind of fan base that will buy 10 versions of their songs. But The Saturdays have probably a wider casual fan-base, so I wouldn't be surprised if in the second week The Saturdays charted higher. That being said, The Vamps song isn't terrible.(But it's no Not Giving Up - obvs)

Hopefully it will start getting some plays over the next couple of weeks, and we'll have a better idea!

Album is back up to £6.99 on iTunes now, which explains the drop. (Don't know if this has been mentioned). They'll probably reduce it again after NGU's release.

Well the combined total of these three albums is like 11.

I doubt The Vamps will sell 180k+

I know it's not true, that's the point I was making actually! :D

The difference is gays and teenage girls do not want to have sex with the girlband(s) in question; boybands will always have that core fan base that latch on due to physical attraction which form therefore the base of their fan base which will only continue to grow. Obviously that's not the case with all bands and I'm sorry I don't meant to try and stereotype/generalise musicians or undermine their talent because obviously it is there.

825. Disco Love

I don't see why every boyband that comes out nowadays get a big fan base in like two hours. However that does make sense as that would explain when boybands tend to get older, they lose the physical attraction that teenage girls had for them.

COUGH* JLS *COUGH*

Very uneventful on iTunes.

One thing The Saturdays have on their side is that they will potentially bag better UK promo slots than the other releases that week because they have a bigger media presence.

Only #36 on the Rolling TV chart which is a rather slow start taking into account that Little Mix are #40 and The Vamps are #34 . I hope they start going to Radio 1 / Capital and promoting 'Not Giving Up' it worked so well for 'What About Us'.
I'd say thats a good start, as The Vamps are far more relevant and only two spaces ahead, and LM are releasing a charity single, which is released next week..

Surely it'll free fall though as it's airplay hasn't been that good? Anyways, Inthink the sats are still doing pretty week for a girl group :)
