It was horrendous when she did it, and it's even worse now.

I agree, I hate numerical album titles full stop. Sean seemed to be insinuating that Beyoncé was the first person to name her album after a number.

To me, if you're going to number your album after how many you have released up to that point, you should have named all your albums like that otherwise it looks out of place in a discography and is incredibly lazy if it has no other meaning. Maroon 5 just get away with it with 'V' because the number is disguised therefore it doesn't look as ugly. The title and album cover (if it is the actual one) both scream laziness and as if they are just throwing it out for the money.

There's another cover floating around on Tumblr, which does look a lot better but I still don't see the problem with the 'official' one.

Also this picture from the same shoot is floating around on twitter which would even make a better cover

Anyway this is the true meaning behind the album title (and makes for a much better cover) :kink:

It is literally them stood in front of a wall. Two pictures that could've been taken in a minute, with a basic font planted on top. Completely bare minimum effort. Imo they aren't even good photos.

I don't think they ever had the best artwork in the business but how anyone approved that as the cover is baffling  Next to their other albums it doesn't *fit*

'Fireproof' is very nice indeed. It has a kind of...American road trip feel to it...or something. Also, props to Louis for singing his token few lines without standing out a mile in his incompetence.

That album cover is shocking :o. Why do (only) two of them switch places :arrr:?

Title is crap. I actually thought it worked for Beyoncé because the number had a lot of significance in her personal life. This just screams laziness.

Not really any different to the alternate 'Little Things' artwork either, tbf. (Not that the official was any more inspiring)

There's SO many things wrong with it imo.

- The fact there's two pictures looks really unprofessional.

- WHY is there two pictures placed on top of one another? Looks really amateur.

- The square background which looks like they couldn't remember the font they made the logo in so just snipping tool'd it from a previous cover.

- It's not a photoshoot, so it just looks as silly as placing a red carpet photo on a cover.

- Liam isn't looking at the camera on EITHER photo for some reason.

- Why do Zayn and Harry swap round despite it seemingly just being two random photos taken.

- None of them apart from Zayn look ready for the top photo.

- Why has it been taken outside what just looks like a wall in their office? Why has NO effort been put into this idea of a photoshoot?

- Everything about it just looks completely lazy.

- They've always gone for the 'larking around, not taking it seriously' cover kind of thing, so I like that they're continuing that, but they only have to look at past covers to see there's a difference between photoshoot larking around and 'rabbit in the headlights, shit I've got to pull a face before the flash goes ARGH'.

The idea of 'Four' annoys me aswell, because there's five of them. I realise it's in relation to the fourth album... but the title can stay, it doesn't bother me too much, the cover is just... it just gives me a pre-conceived idea that everything this era is going to be as lazy. Even the editing of their 'we thought we'd give you a track' seems really amateur. I don't get it. Naughty Boy, Emeli, The 1975, all these people getting involved points towards a more grown up and respectable direction - every single one of Emeli's covers look thought out, they're basic but they portray something. This literally portrays nothing to me apart from half-arsedness. And, yes, I have managed to post a ridiculous huge paragraph about a cover, without hearing ANY music which probably seems really stupid of me.

The cover isn't great of course, and for some reason the Zayn/Harry switch around between the pictures is bothering me, but otherwise I'm not terribly bothered about it. As long as the music is good ~~~

Alternative opinion: it's so amazing because liam is hot x

On the cover issue - it's not a 'great' cover but I'm going to guess that the reason they've gone for it is because it looks like they were wanted something similar to that. Maybe they took thousands of photos, but they really liked those ones because of how half of them are looking at different cameras etc. - it's the same with my friends. We'll Instagram/Facebook photos that are horrible of ourselves well because it's funny! They could literally release a photo of anything and it would still sell.

I think the album title Four is odd. But for all we know there could be a song called Four, they make reference to four in their lyrics etc. end of the day it doesn't matter that much.

When it comes to the title, I was thinking it could be from their individual perspectives. Each member will see the group consisting of himself + four band mates, the 4 people they spend the most time with / know exactly what each other is going through as a member of One Direction etc.

Probably not but that gives Four a bit of a deeper meaning. Or obviously it could just be because it's album #4 :kink:

I'm really digging "Fireproof" and wouldn't be against it becoming a single at some point. Very catchy after a few listens even without it being as 'big' as some of their previous songs.

The "nobody loves you baby the way I do" lines really remind me of a different song though and that's going to be annoying until someone works out what. :(

"You'll never love yourself half as much as I love you" in Little Things maybe? That's what crossed my mind :kink:

It's growing on me with each listen, really enjoyable track. Still don't think it's their best by any means but a nice little song and will be a great album track. Might end up as single 2 maybe?

'Fireproof' really is such a sweet little song, I've never heard their harmonies sound so good before. I can't stop playing it!

This might sound a little crazy but at times it really reminds me of Girls Aloud's 'Rolling Back The Rivers In Time'. Especially after Louis' verse.

I keep coming back to 'Fireproof'. Difficult to compare it to some of their big-chorused smashes but it's possibly my favourite track of theirs (or out of the ones I've heard at least) at this stage :o.
