Budged up to 35 on rolling TV. Better up than down.

This week would be a really good week for the radio to start playing Not Giving Up given the weather - Very summery sounding song.

Slowly but surely, it's a summer song with a winters video (dark, silvery, white colours)

Can't see it happening until next week as I said... :/

I'm not saying you're wrong but out of curiousity what makes you think they'll playlist it late? Is it because they did it last time with Disco Love?

I'll feel so much better if/when Radio 1 playlist this. If they don't, I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I do think that it'd be a bit weird for them to make Not Giving Up the first song they don't playlist after they've held onto Disco Love for so long. It seems like they've just been playing it to bridge the gap between that release and this one. Kind of feels like they're trying to keep the Sats relevant :)

Hear, hear. It's not looking great for the single at the moment but that could all easily change when the public actually hears it. They've playlisted so many of The Saturdays' sub-par singles, it'd be so ironic if they chose to drop them on one of their much stronger outings.

Good god.

Of course they will playlist it.

Griff, stop being "nasty".

I understand the reasoning behind the worrying - Radio1 only B-listed 'Gentlemen' and 'DiscoLove' - therefore I understand the worry as Radio 1 have snubbed Lawson, The Wanted & Pixie Lott recently.

Did they snub The Wanted and Pixie? :o Oops.

Even if they do snub The Saturdays, they've supported them for five and a half years which is pretty amazing considering they're a girlband.

There is cause to worry with Capital as well. They haven't played Little Mix's new song and it's out this weekend. And One Direction's new single hasn't been playlisted either by them. I think Capital will jump on board if R1 do though.

They snubbed the entire 'Word Of Mouth' campaign from The Wanted - I think they were mainly snubbed due to the fact Capital play them every 5 minutes same as Lawson.

I'm surprised that Capital haven't playlisted 'Not Giving Up' as of yet - I know it's out in a month but the song is literally perfect for Capital - I wish they hired a guest rapper for it.

Unfortunately :( It's in a bid to get younger audience

(The wanted are getting old so their fans have declined, so no playlist, from Radio one point of view)

(Pixie hasn't been in the business for 2 years so they could easily think that her fans have gotten older or wavered so she won't attract any young audiences to the radio)

I can't think of a reason why radio one would snub the sats (but they will eventually) except for that they're getting old

Guest rapper for Not Giving Up, I decided to pick Professor Green as an example. The rap would go like this:

*Just before rochelles verse*

'Its Green, on a Saturday, yeah' 'uh, uh'

*His main rap*

'Yo, Uh, I am green, I am mean, not giving up, I don't give a f**k, The saturdays are reem now give me ice cream cause am a monstaaaaaaa'

With Little Mix, Neon Jungle, The Vamps and One Direction all on the scene (all of them much younger and more "relevant" with kids/teenagers than The Sats) it makes it really hard for the girls to stay popular with radio and stand out. :(

Doesn't matter, and why are everyone seeing Neon Jungle as a threat? I don't mean to sound mean but I personally think they look like they have been dragged through a bin lorry. So what they have had one 'hit'? They are exactly the same as Stooshe with the rapping business so I am not too worried about them.

I didn't say they were a threat to the girls. I just said that the current set of boy bands and girl bands are insanely young. The Vamps, One Direction, Neon Jungle and Little Mix are all like late teens and very early 20's. They all look like they've just left high school. Kids and teenagers can relate to them because they're not that much older than them, or at the same age. Radio want to hammer them because they're "fresh" and the "future".

JLS, Westlife, Girls Aloud, Sugababes, The Wanted whatever and even Spice Girls consisted of adults that look, dress and perform like adults. The Saturdays are the last remaining "older" pop group. They're grown women. They have kids and are married and have been around for years. They definitely don't have the same appeal to kids and teenagers like Neon Jungle or Little Mix. The previous generation (Westlife, JLS, Sugababes etc) appealed to kids but also adults and mostly mothers and grown women. The Saturdays are the only ones now with that market.

I see it this way - Marvin and Rochelle get grown women going "aww" and it ends up in magazines and they're on This Morning etc so they appeal to the adults. Zayn and Perrie whip teenage girls (music buyers) into a frenzy. The Vamps are cute and play instruments and sing stuff kids can relate to. Neon Jungle make club music and have brash, in your face personalities and are "cool" to listen to because they're not a typical girlband.

All this only applied to bbc radio one, Capital play any song they want as long as it sounds current. They playlisted Kylie! The saturdays can't be a band appealing only to adults since I'm only 15 and my entire year at school adore them

I guess we'll see on Wednesday. It doesn't help that they've released at such a crowded time. Radio 1 has Iggy, The Vamps, Sigma, John Newman (Who I would say are all certains) to be playlisted that are released the same week. They might snub Saturdays simply because there isn't room for them.

All this worry and they'll probably be track of the day tomorrow :P (but probably not)
