Ooh Love Me Again was #2 on my EOY chart for last year! His voice sounds incredible on it and I still love it even now! The only thing that's come close is Feel the Love.

Wake Me Up was brilliant but overexposure absolutely killed it for me!

The EIGHTEENTH #1 of 2013 was...

Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop

1 week #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/75/Wecantstop.png

So after a 7 year drought of #1 singles for Ms Cyrus and some of the most random chart peaks, Miley Finally managed to Grab a place up in that coveted top spot with the best of them (Mr Bobby included!), shed her Disney Princess Image and showed Hillary Duff How it was really done (I LOVE HILARY DUFF!) Yes Miley went; as it seemed at the time, berserk and had everyone in the palm of her hands by the time her album came out. Im particularly a fan of this because Miley managed to still make a good song and probably would have managed a #1 with this without all the attention grabbing that she lowered herself to in order to secure the #1 although her later attempts at being talked about for later single 'Wrecking Ball' were a bit OTT! I mean who makes out with a sledge hammer and rides a wrecking ball naked? STILL,you have to hand it to her for originality.

We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball are actually insanely catchy and pretty good :o Deserves the success imo even with all the antics..

I detested We Can't Stop because I found it so trashy and vapid at first, I guess I just didn't get it. In time though I grew to love it as it's just such a letting-your-hair-down song, so feel good! And my 2013 birthday #1. ;)

The NINETEENTH #1 of 2013 was...

Ellie Goulding - Burn

3 weeks #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/af/Ellie_Goulding_-_Burn.png

In the words of jameela. This Is Ellie Gouldings First Number 1 in her whole career. Did you know that?

Yes we knew that after the first and second and third and fourth and so on... You get the idea. It was like listening to the iTunes thread :kink:

Yes, as she said this is Ellie's first #1. I didn't really see the appeal to this to begin with but then again I'm not sure I ever did see the appeal of this. Ellie has had even more amazing songs than this in the past but alas that #1 eluded her discography until this point. It is a fairly good song but really she should have had a #1 before this.

The TWENTIETH #1 of 2013 was...

Katy Perry - Roar

2 weeks #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/41/Katy_Perry_-_Roar.png

A massive comeback and a massive success for Katy Perry, Roar saw her peak at #1 on 24 different charts and enter the top 10 of 49 separate charts. Quite a feat and I'm sure you will agree. The video was entertaining just as we've come to expect from a Katy video, even if her acting was bad in it :heehee: This firmly reestablished Katy as the queen of the charts and she's still continuing her domination right now with her last single 'Dark Horse'.

I absolutely fell in love with Roar the first time I heard it.

NEVER before have I adored a song as much as that on first listen

I was in love with Burn but overplay killed it for me.

As for Roar, technically it was a great pop song but I couldn't get into it as much as I could for Dark Horse

Jason Derulo & 2 Chains - Talk Dirty

2 weeks #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e7/Jason_Derulo_-_Talk_Dirty.jpg

This is actually a song I don't know very well. I listened to it once and that was enough for me. How so many people enjoyed it enough for it to be #1 for two weeks is beyond me. NEXT!

The TWENY SECOND #1 of 2013 was...

One Republic - Counting Stars

2 NON-CONSECUTIVE weeks #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/05/OneRepublic_Counting_Stars.jpg

This is probably one of the most well known and liked songs of 2013, even though it only had two weeks at #1. Truth be told, I never really liked this song all that much. Once again my hatred for The UK publics taste in music shines through. It eventually grew on me after many weeks of hearing it everywhere, but there have been and will be many better songs that reach #1 than this.

Talk Dirty was catchy but not something I'd ever listen to out of choice.

Counting Stars on the other hand is brilliant! One of those songs that stuck around for AGES in the chart, yet never seemed to get old. (For me, at least!)

The TWENY THIRD #1 of 2013 was...

Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball

1 week #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/06/Miley_Cyrus_-_Wrecking_Ball.jpg

I reckon that this was the most famous of all of 2013's songs. Not because of the quality of the song but because of the video. That god damned Wrecking Ball! YES, she rode it naked and YES she snogged a sledgehammer!! This was Mileys second #1 and also her second #1 last year after a long list of lacklustre attempts to crack the UK. Mostly it was just down to Miley shedding her Disney image and appearing more Molly than Miley. :kink: In all seriousness, I loved this song and i still do. It's a fantastic piece of music and I'm glad that Miley has finally come into her own. Although her singles after this flopped so maybe that should be her cue to stick to being mainstream!

The TWENY FOURTH #1 of 2013 was...

Lorde - Royals

1 week #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5b/Lorde_Royals.jpg

Royals for me was one of those songs that I came across through Buzzjack. I had no intention of listening to it though until it was everywhere and i gave in. It was great on first listen and second listen but I grew bored of it quickly. Initially it is everything you want in a song but pretty soon you find out that it's like a cheap Jar of coffee and is lacking something that makes it last.

The TWENY FIFTH #1 of 2013 was...

Eminem & Rihanna - The Monster

1 week #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2b/The_Monster_cover.png

I charted this for a couple of weeks I think but I really couldn't get into it. It literally sounded like it had been done so many times before and really was a very dated track. Usually I don't like songs that reach #1 but I understand why they get there. This on the otherhand I find a bit of a conundrum and the only reason I can find for it charting at the top is down to the two names attached to the record.

Storm Queen - Look Right Through [MK Remix]

1 week #1

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/37/Storm_Queen_Look_Right_Through.jpg

Y'all are gonna hate me fo this! ANOTHER #1 that can be added to the list of #1 chart toppers that I never liked. I just didn't get the appeal of this song. Granted, it's a lot more tolerable now than it was at the time but I really think it's trash!
