After a few hours of searching I found something perfect (I think) and it's confirmed :cheer:

Thrown away my previous potentials and sending something that sounds nothing like most of my previous entries. No clue how it's gonna go down in this contest. (It's certainly not 'chillwave' anyway, certain people might be pleased to hear).

I know the whole issue of 'genre' is still a concern, so I amended the first rule this morning. Please try to keep your song within the sound and style of this forum. I'm going to go through the songs I've received so far tonight just to make sure there's nothing too poppy in there. This particular forum encompasses a lot of different sounds and genres so I can't imagine there being too many issues at all. I'm not fond of genre policing but I think it's important to strike a balance so that UP doesn't become a diet BJSC.

thank you for genre-capping cal. i feel like it's honestly become a contest for songs that aren't strong enough for bjsc, rather than a celebration of alternative music. i know my taste is mostly dance orientated, but i still try to send something that incorporates alternative elements.

Kinda bad timing for me to enter probably my least 'alternative' song to date then. Oops.

Good to see we've got a faster takeup than usual perhaps!

 

Mine's way less alternative than Mondkopf/Pantha Du Prince/Dan Deacon but it's hardly CHRVCHES, so hopefully I'll survive a 'cull' if there is one!
