March 14, 201411 yr Author God, you SAY she's the Swedish Avril Rich, but at least Avril isn't in her thirties yet! :D
March 14, 201411 yr One year in MF adds 3 normal years~ True. Harlot added 30 years between her nine year participation gap :o
March 14, 201411 yr Sanna is 29? I thought she was older than that... She does have a whiff of old Swedish schlager bag to her, the years of continued failure must have got to her, bless her. Maybe she spent too much time with Harlot in 2008 and it rubbed off on her...(I still would though - Sanna, not Harlot).
March 16, 201411 yr Watching this behind the scenes thing for no reason other than I'm bored http://www.svt.se/melodifestivalen/se-program/9-3-18-15 Go to 25:30. Janet Leon watching her career go up in disco glitter is the saddest and best moment of this year's MF.

March 16, 201411 yr Bless her! I love how much time is spent on Sanna's hair during the whole thing! She comes across so well in this documentary, she seems like such a genuinely nice, humble person who's finally achieved their ultimate aim in life.
March 16, 201411 yr HA! Ace's face when she gets through is definitely one of my favourite moments of the year, she, like us, thought she was destined for like 7th/8th. Amazing
March 17, 201411 yr Rewatching some of the MF results from the last 10 years, am I right in thinking that under the new proportional voting system both Nanne and Caroline Af Ugglas would have won!?
March 17, 201411 yr Author Nanne would've, I haven't done the calculations but there's a chance Måns may have done in 2009.
March 18, 201411 yr Author Rewatching some of the MF results from the last 10 years, am I right in thinking that under the new proportional voting system both Nanne and Caroline Af Ugglas would have won!? Yep, would've been Mans. The voting was narrow enough in 2009 that his huge lead in the juries wouldn't have been overtaken by Caroline, as she wasn't that far ahead on votes. JV PV TV Song 96 54 150 Hope & Glory 51 94 145 Snalla snalla 38 95 133 La voix 67 59 126 Stay The Night 75 43 118 Moving On 49 68 117 Baby Goodbye 58 53 111 1000 Miles 40 15 055 Love Love Love 28 14 042 You're My World 12 06 018 Alla 02 15 017 Sa vill stjarnorna And if you want to see the order that would've been announced on the night... 12 06 018 Alla 28 14 042 You're My World 40 15 055 Love Love Love 02 15 017 Sa vill stjarnorna 75 43 118 Moving On 58 53 111 1000 Miles 96 54 150 Hope & Glory 67 59 126 Stay The Night 49 68 117 Baby Goodbye 51 94 145 Snalla snalla 38 95 133 La voix Hilariously bad for Alla - but imagine how much worse that would've been for Molly! And it says it all about how badly that bottom four did on votes that even with MORE points (516 rather than 473, because there were 11 songs and because there were international AND regional juries that year) they still all got fewer/about the same points as Natural did this year on the public vote! Still, imagine how NAILBITING those last two would've been. Mans would've been cacking it! I imagine that victory wouldn't have gone down too well considering he was only fifth with the public too...
March 18, 201411 yr Author 2010 would've been QUITE THE THRILL too (although the result doesn't change) JV PV TV Song 82 98 180 This Is My Life 95 81 176 Keep On Walking 49 90 139 Manboy 51 57 108 You're Out of My Life 51 50 101 Kom 47 20 067 Unstoppable 50 16 066 We Can Work It Out 15 30 045 I Did It For Love 21 21 042 Hollow 12 10 022 Jag vill om du vagar However, things get MUCH more exciting if you get rid of the regional juries and just multiply the international jury vote as if there were 11 of them rather than just 6 (a bit extrapolate-y but given how much the regional juries went WILD for Anna compared with the studied indifference from the international juries, probably fairly reflective...): JV PV TV Song 83 81 164 Keep On Walking 73 90 163 Manboy 51 98 149 This Is My Life 51 57 108 You're Out of My Life 55 50 105 Kom 70 16 086 We Can Work It Out 62 20 082 Unstoppable 06 30 036 I Did It For Love 20 10 030 Jag vill om du vagar 02 21 023 Hollow 20 10 030 Jag vill om du vagar 70 16 086 We Can Work It Out 62 20 082 Unstoppable 02 21 023 Hollow 06 30 036 I Did It For Love 55 50 105 Kom 51 57 108 You're Out of My Life 83 81 164 Keep On Walking 73 90 163 Manboy 51 98 149 This Is My Life EAT Y'HEART OUT SAN
March 18, 201411 yr Poor Anna, the reason that regional juries ceased to exist in MF! I do enjoy a bit of This Is My Life but Keep On Walking really was the blindingly obvious choice. Wow at the 2009 result. That was the one I saw live and when Mans trawled in 5th in the televote there were gasps all round, as everybody had resigned themselves to him winning it. I wonder why it was such jury catnip? I'm pretty sure it would have only been a mid-table finisher in Eurovision anyway. I still don't get why Agnes had such little support, Love Love Love is a great disco song. And the less said about Sofia the better, I've never seen an arena full of thousands of people go so quiet. I rewatched last year's results too and had forgotten how badly the international juries marked Yohio! Talk about working well together to ensure a crap song doesn't win! :D
March 19, 201411 yr That was actually released a couple of days before the Melodifestivalen final, but it's a nice video! :D
March 24, 201411 yr Been getting my mum into some old MF tracks because she took to Undo this year and loved Popular  She likes Kom, Begging, I'm In Love, Empty Room and Cara mia especially, doing my bit to spread the gospel :P
