Posted March 17, 201411 yr http://cdn.rap-up.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/usher-jacket.jpg Every other week or so, we will provide you with one of the genre's biggest artists and open up any discussion you may have about them. If you randomly start loving a song or album and want to discuss it, there's exciting news or sales updates for the artist or you just want to express some love/hate for them, this is your place to do so. We will also archive the artists' threads so you can return to them whenever you wish. This time it's the turn of USHER. Usher broke out big time with the release of his second album 'My Way' and from then on it's been hit album after hit album. Peaking with his 'Confessions' album back in 2004, which has sold 10 million copies in the States ALONE, which broke the record for first week sales for a male R&B artist ever, selling nearly 1.1 million in that week! He's still making albums to this day and has joined the Spring & Autumn 'The Voice US' teams, where he is a head judge. What are your opinions on Usher? Do you have a favourite album of his? A single must surely stick out to you at least? Does 'Moving Mountains' lend itself to one of the greatest of all time? Discuss what you like (or don't like) about Usher, here. **Please don't hesitate to take part in past Artist Profiles, too! PAST PROFILES: • JANET JACKSON

March 18, 201411 yr I've never actually been a massive fan in all honesty. He's undoubtedly one of (if not the biggest) R&B male artist, but i've only ever warmed to a few singles from him. And then there's 'OMG' :/
March 18, 201411 yr Author The whole 'Confessions' era (incl. 'My Boo' obvz) was flawless. Commercial R&B at it's finest! At least for me. 'Burn' holds a VERY special place in my heart and 'Yeah' is when I believe the whole R&B/Dance crossover truly broke out into success. I do love his '8701' album too.
March 18, 201411 yr 'Climax' made me hope for a second Usher was good again. Unfortunately he then went back to being worse than ever but at least we got that one song.

Climax is just incredible though

March 24, 201411 yr Usher's one of those artists who I've always felt decent but never felt the urge to check out much of his material (kinda like Whitney for me actually until yesterday :o). Burn is one that stands out as being good in my mind, still remember the music video very clearly actually, always used to be on the music channels.
March 24, 201411 yr Author If you get chance Joseph you should check out 'Confessions' (the album) especially 'Throwback'. Anyway, updating the discography post now! :D
