Wow what a huge lead - still think they'll be lucky to break 100k lol! The chart is turning poor again with all these one week wonders at the top of the charts with the aid of pent up pre orders, makes the chart boring!
I'm a bit baffled by the 50k lead considering the iTunes lead was never particularly impressive - just EP sales or are there physicals in the equation?

Yep, all three plus there's a second version of their song in the iTunes top 40.

It's sold about 11k physicals, though that still leaves a ~40k lead mostly unaccounted for by its apparent iTunes success. The EP must have shifted a lot. I don't think EP sales count to the download chart though so I suspect Duke Dumont will remain #1 on there regardless of how far 5SOS are ahead overall.

5 Seconds of Summer: #1 - 65.4k

Faul & Wad Ad vs. Pnau: #2 - 21.3k

Duke Dumont: #3 - 18.5k

I have to say I am very sceptical about these figures - 5SOS haven't been anything *like* this far ahead on iT, even allowing for bundles, and Faul don't even have bundles to boost them.

Even now I'm not 100% sure that 5SOS are going to #1. It's 95/5 to me. If they keep tumbling down the way they are they might sell next to nothing on the following 5 days, and that will be it. Although it will be still enough to outsell Duke Dumont.

I don't care who goes to #1, as I'm not a fan of the whole of the top-10 (except DVBBS), but I'd like Duke Dumont to stay at #1 because I don't like flash-in-the-pan #1s.

They're not gonna tumble down *that* far IMO, especially when it has radio support from Capital as well as TV airplay. No way Duke will catch them now I'd say.

The figures are from a reliable source.

So a great dance #1 blocked by an awful boyband. :puke2:

"Changes"? Not like it's even expected to be #2 by Sunday though?

Unreality TV tweeted an article this morning giving these midweek album figures:

1. Sam Bailey – The Power Of Love (15,746)

2. Wilko Johnson / Roger Daltrey – Going Back Home (11,758)

3. George Michael – Symphonica (8,950)

4. My Chemical Romance – May Death Never Stop You (5,453)

5. Pharrel Williams – Girl (4,545)

Happy that an actual song is going to no1! If people actually bothered to look past the boyband tag they would see it's a good song. Not a great one but people saying it's the worst number one etc etc are having a laugh.
Can Abdul Fareek's pledge to be banned for a month actually be put into place if this does go to #1 on Sunday? That'd be one good thing to come out of this at least.

As I have no idea who he is, I can't tell if that'd be a good or bad thing?

I think this would be a great idea :D

^ Gosh guys stop bullying him. :(

I mentioned this on the iTunes thread as well, but this reminds me of The Club is Alive. It never had a big lead on iTunes, dropped really far by the end of the week but still got #1 officially with quite a big lead.

5SOSs EP is still No. 1 on the album chart, so they are still shiftig a lot of these and Faul have a 2nd version at No. 45 and also an EP that are bossting their sales.

The itunes singles Top 10 are not everything that counts B-)

Jesus Christ  On the bright side, I do believe they'll fail to sell 100k and that lead will be eaten away at a lot during the week. S'pose it will be amusing to see how far they fall next week.

I can't see Changes holding at number 2, but very glad they're that high up :o should be a comfortable #3 on Sunday unless John Legend gets a significant boost.

I think it'll be Route 94 that will knock them down to #4.
