Outhere Brothers 'Boom Boom Boom' interesting

Prodigy 'Breathe' ~ <3

Robert Miles 'Children' ~ one of my all time faves

The admissions of 'Flat Beat' and 'Sweet Like Chocolate' are baffling to say the least?! The word 'selected' should probably be inserted into the title tbh.

04. CHILDREN- Robert Miles (764,000)

YEAR: 1996

PEAK POSITION: 1

Peak Position 2 surely?

By the way, another excellent thread.

'Children' If only that was a #1.

The definition of what to include in this thread is of course open to interpretation but I have to agree that 'Flat Beat' is a rather bizarre omission. If it's not dance then what is it?

I have to say, despite not being a very active member on any forum (well, for quite a while at least), this has been a very enjoyable thread and countdown! Thank you for all of your work and effort, OP. :D

Would anyone know what hits *just* missed out on the Top 100? Say, 110-101?

I'm revising my list and will be posting a top 400 (which will have to be taken with a pinch of salt!) shortly, but will wait until the dust has settled on Gezza's list

Awesome, thank you! :D

Yeah this is still an excellent tune yah i thought it only got to no 2 and like lasted 24 weeks in the top 40

ATB - 9pm (Till I Com_)

Run DMC Vs Jason Nevins - It's Like That

Mr Oizo - Flat Beat

I would of expected them in the the top 10

Hmm, 'Children' - I can hear why it's popular, but it's so twee. At least it's not as bad as that mash-up where somebody clumsily chucked vocals on top of it .

It doesn't matter what you think of 'Flat Beat' and how it got to number one (jeans and puppets) - it's more of a dance song than the majority of the top 100.

'Children' was good but it's not a patch on 'One & One' - that's my definition of a flawless song.
Ha, not that one. There was one in the charts - with a female vocal on top, but can't think what it was called or who it was credited to.

I think it's this:

Possible candidates for the 3 remaining tracks (most of which have already been mentioned):

If-these-aren't-dance-I don't-know-what-is:

Mr Oizo - Flat Beat

ATB - 9pm (Till I Come)

Songs which I would probably count as dance, but may have been excluded:

Lou Bega - Mambo No 5

Eiffel 65 - Blue (Da Ba Dee)

Shanks & Bigfoot - Sweet Like Chocolate

Gina G - Ooh Aah ... Just A Little Bit

Whigfield - Saturday Night

Cher - Believe

Song that is generally classed a dance hit, but is actually a

rap hit that became big thanks to a dance re-mix

Run DMC vs Jason Nevins - It's Like That

Do I spy SHOAT viewing this thread. Even a spoiler tagged mention of a mid 90s Trent FM radio staple brings him immediately back!
