The ARTPOP intro slays my entire existence. I swear.... I cried. It was beautiful! And then the transition into Venus.... I screamed!!!

I actually like the Housewives, they're a fun inclusion and the video would be worse off for their absence imo.

It's quite funny. I find the 'tambourine housewife' in the middle really awkward though. It's like she's putting no effort in, but the others are.

The opening section with Artpop is fantastic (also enjoying the less clinical production) and would have made a perfect introductory visual back last summer.

Constructive criticism is obviously allowed and has been made on numerous occasions during this thread. We would just prefer not to have posts like "pig head lipstick" or "worst video ever" "shit artist" etc with no reason or elaboration to it if you catch my drift? Debates and constructive critique is actually what we promote but unreasonable bashing not, I've edited Kayla's post re:Miley.

The video has started resurrecting the album from the dead as well which is one of its main aims, album is #173 on UK iTunes and #98 on US iTunes - minor I know but it's a start! 'G.U.Y.' now up to #218 on US iTunes and #243 on UK iTunes too! :D

Pretty brilliant video. She looks really good. I hope this doesn't mean we wont get a video for 'Venus' though (or did I read somewhere it was already shot?) because its still my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE *_*

But in a nutshell: WOW. ARTPOP scene at the start was so rousing and then during G.U.Y. she performed with such exuberance :wub: Not to mention she's looking absolutely stunning! The video has made me like the song so much more now, after initially preferring many of the others on the album.

Credits are almost as long as the music video lol

Very, very early days but i'm already prepared if this underperforms. I'm just glad she's doing this properly with care and effort and most importantly seems to be having fun with it again <3

I don't think the single will go any higher than top 30 personally, after which she'd be wise to wrap up the era. But it's a pretty strong visual, if a little muddled in terms of storyline etc. I like the black swan look near the end a lot.

I don't get the big deal about the video, it's classic Lady Gaga in the way she threw lots of money in it and tried hard to make it look like DEEP. Not a bad video, but that intro is crigneworthy and the 4 minute endings are too much for what it is.

As others have said, the video doesn't cover up the fact that the song is poor by her standards and I don't see it being a hit.

 

Do What U Want was so much better and deserved a video instead of it. :(
