Try not to worry about the next single quite yet. :P

I swear some of you will have nervous break downs after all the worrying and fretting that's been going on about 'Not Giving Up' since January!

I'm concerned about how the single promoting this will do. Radio aren't touching them in April, so what suggests their next single (premiered in June/July I'm assuming?) will get airplay? This won't stick around unless there's a hit single. :(

5th single which has been available to listen to online for months isnt as appealing as a brand new single

I'm pretty sure there next single is getting a lot more hype than NGU and as goldfish said, NGU has been available for listen for months already, so it's not as exciting as a brand new single :)

Indeed. As many have pointed out, "Not Giving Up" is the 5th single from a flop album. But the next single will be brand new and kickstarting a Greatest Hits era. Naturally, it will get more support.

I am genuinely excited and optimistic for this next era.

Worst case scenario and the single flops, the album will still probably sell at least 3x what LFTW did.

The success of the era does depend on whether someone announces a pregnancy and the quality of the song picked to lead though ;)
Imagine that, them getting a Number one album
It happened for Girls Aloud (I think it happened for other artists too - them getting their first (and sometimes only) number 1 album with the greatest hits collection).

I'm definitely here for this. I think it's the right time for a GH from them tbh. I want the new single to be a big pure pop anthem though, like 'Higher'/'Ego'!

They proved that fans still love their pop songs when Disco Love was released, so why not? :D

Hopefully the songs like Ego, Higher and What About Us strike the right chord with the general public so they can get a top five album at least!

I agree, I think the lead needs to be something like Higher, for sure.

Exactly! 'What About Us' was obviously huge for them too, but that was them chasing the trend but putting their own Saturdays stamp on it. They should stick to the big pop anthems, really. There's a reason why they're often the bigger sellers for them. (Low peaks, but brilliant overall sales a lot of the time)
As long as we don't get another Gentleman I am fine

I hate having to say it but I think they need to go back to Chasing Lights/Headline type songs. I think if you listed songs like Up, Issues, Ego, Higher and maybe Missing You to random non fans, they'd know those much better then "All Fired Up", "Notorious" and "Disco Love".

Oh and the colour coordination back then was fantastic, love the artwork in the old years

Issues is such a beautiful song, I remember it got picked by my standard grade English teacher as the song that we had to analyse the lyrics and write an essay about

"I keep building the walls round my heart" shows that Vanessa feels that her heart is very fragile and is doing all she can to protect it from getting broken again.

LMAO

You just know that if the era is a success, a pregnancy will be announced

Cameron that is HILARIOUS

I think Vanessa could be next, I just have this really bad vibe. They'd be vocally screwed if she takes a step back from the group :(

Rochelle and Una can handle it. They've done one gig without Vanessa in January 2012 and they I barely noticed her missing. Rochelle slayed her parts on "Notorious" and even "Forever Is Over", and Una did ad-libs on a lot of the songs.

I'm sorry, Vanessa is the vocal glue that holds this group together. Yes Rochelle and Una can manage, but I don't see them being the only ones with a solo on every single track on Chasing Lights! ;)

That's because she had the best voice then, Rochelle and Una were far weaker in the CL era. When she was having vocals troubles during the OYR campaign, they obviously realised and so made Rochelle the lead for "30 Days". Then "What About Us" onwards is fairly distributed between them both.

Here's some examples from that gig where Rochelle perfectly covered Vanessa's vocals...

I was there was a HQ of that gig though! :(
