That's how I remember it too. I can't see 'Let It Go' managed 700k+ anyway so it won't become the best selling non-Top 10.

I can see Let It Go ultimately going top 10 thanks to X Factor. I would actually be surprised if they didn't sing it.

Maybe it'll even be next year's winners single?

I think the days of any song going top 10 from being sung on X Factor are pretty much over, especially such a recent song.

They just need to give it the 'Skyscraper' treatment - sang five times in a fortnight and used as a soundbed near-constantly for the same length of time.

I could see it.

Mind you I would prefer Sigma or Kiezsa over Mr. Probz at #1, for some reason Waves is hardly clicking with me, its good but I'm still on the fence over it, what ever happens it looks like Mr. Probz is going to be my birthday #1 record for this year, :( it can't hardly miss with the high pre-orders.

So it can miss?

The iTunes chart must be more than 48 hours. Surely Sigma has the most purchased song of the past 48 hours?

Surely 'Let It Go' is too well known to be a winners single? I can't see them choosing that, if they do, the cover version will be forgotten in only a few weeks.

They're always forgotten in a few weeks, I remember they did both 'The Climb' and 'Many Of Horror' (When We Collide) which at the time were recent and well known.

I don't know exactly how it works, but it's definitely weighted to more recent sales, since songs have been known to start falling less than 24 hours after release.

Sigma might overtake eventually, but probably not until next week at the earliest imo.

Ok the figures I had for "I'm Yours" were from 1 Jan 2010 onwards - forgot it was released and peaked in 2009. *Ooops*

Ah well, the biggest #11 of the current decade is "Set Fire To The Rain" anyway. :P

Skyscraper went to #7 last year.

True. I had wiped that particular happening from my memory.

Skyscraper too! That did only peak at #32 before X-Factor but it went top 10 thanks to them hammering it during the series so to many people it was still a recent top 10 hit. Not as well known as Let It Go, granted, but they don't take into account how recent the song is when they make the next awful choice of winner's single!

Even if they are quickly forgotten a lot of time, it's a shame songs like Skyscraper (one of my all time faves) and The Climb are eclipsed by a lazy talent show cover. I do James, Little Mix and Matt's winner's singles though

 90. Essex Young Farmers - Put That Hoedown (pre-order)

This year's Blurred Lines tbh.

Is that Essex farmers song actually going to be a hit? Just took a quick listen and it sounds awful :drama: Its pre-order progress so far reminds me of that song by The Poppy Girls (as they're both charity singles), I expect it to fall down a lot soon and it probably won't go top 10 officially.

Haha, its one of those so bad its good tracks! This needs to go top 10, but anywhere inside the top 40 would be hilarious
