If 'Summer' goes to #1, then it will prove that man can go to #1 with anything.

what makes you say that?

i think 'summer' is rather good. he tends to go to #01 because he knows how to produce a song that the public at large want.

The common factor(s) seem to be extreme front-loading and/or low sales.

I think the "single pre order" is contributing as well, it's also making the charts more boring and predictable. Either bring back the days of "EP pre orders" or remove pre orders all together.

It's generic, lazy and lifeless IMO.

When I think about it though, I have actually liked all of his songs which have gone to #1 (so far).

ie. making the charts even more boring cause of how stale it'd be? :P (although this is for another topic rly oops)

I'm not entirely sure that the charts are any more predictable right now than they were last year or the year before? I'm sure we'll get a surprise hit or two coming still, in fact I think All of Me qualifies as one already, might not have been #1 but I certainly didn't expect it to take off like this when it initially entered the top 40, cause of the lack of airplay it was getting.

Is that including features and production / remix work (Dance Wit Me / Holiday / Call My Name)?

Everything that is credited to him really, I was thinking his main singles and 'We Found Love'. I don't like 'Holiday' but those other two are fine.

Agreed.

The only thing it can really be compared to by him is Feel So Close and even then it's not really that similar.

Madonna and Kylie Minogue with 11 #2 hits. (Madonna has 12 if you count both releases of 'Crazy For You')

and Rihanna has 7!

477. Lucie Silvas - Letters to Ghosts

:cheer: shocked this has even cracked the top 1500 though tbf :kink:

186. Lana Del Rey - Gods & Monsters

Heavily featuring in the EastEnders promo for the aftermath of Lucy's death. And it's being played in between practically ever programme. Should rise much higher yet.

Lena & Others Update:

166. Pixie Lott - Nasty

242. Pixie Lott - Nasty

415. Lena - Stardust

420. Lady Gaga - G.U.Y.

1035. Lena - Stardust

Approaching the top 400 :o

 166. Lana Rel Rey - Gods & Monsters

Rising quite fast, unsurprisingly. I wonder if it'll have a similar advert effect that "Explosions" and "What Now" had.

I was hoping this would make an appearance on iTunes but I didn't expect it to make the Top 200! Then again, I didn't expect the advert to be so frequently broadcasted as you've said.

Just listened to that Abbey Road session of 'Iron Sky' - I'm not surprised it's been so popular. As much as I love 'Scream (Funk My Life Up)' that surely would have been a better lead single? Hopefully it will be pushed as the next single anyway as I can see it doing very well.

Also listened to 'Touch' and discovered I actually heard it weeks ago. Very Craig David-esque (and very different from the other Shift K3Y song I've heard but still good), not something I'd expect to be a big hit but glad it has been!

I actually saw 'Stardust' at #400 the other day!

Oh god don't bring up "What Now"!! :P

Also:

 #117 Katy B - Still (following her Alan Care performance)

Should hopefully go Top 75 officially.
