April 17, 201411 yr 01 - Fever I loved every single track on the album, from Can't get you outta my head to Burning Up. This really was the album of the year for me when it was released and the Era was so beautifully done. I don't think it is dated at all and can listen to the whole album again and again. Highlight - Love Afair, Fargile, Come into my world, Can't get you outta my head, love at first sight, fever, more more more. Low - n/a 02 - X This was so close to being number one but my hatred for Heart beat Rock knocked a few points off. Varied tracks throughout and there were many songs which you can't get out of your head. It also gave Kylie a very distinctive edge for a much older singer and allowed her to be accessible to younger listeners (such as my friends who were in year 4 at the time). 03 - Light Years I would never forget the album which made me love Kylie in the first place. So many TUUUUNES, not to mention that the album takes many of us back to how Kylie had re-constructed herself after she was turned into a frightening figure by DEMOLITION 04 - Aphrodite I remember being so excited about this album, but when I initially heard the previews, I didn't really warm to ANY song except for GOMW. However, this slowly grew on me and I generally loved the album. However, I feel like the sound and production feels very dated and can no longer listen to some of the tracks without getting bored, 05 - Kiss Me Once Boy, Kylie put on her cougar for this album. As much as I like most of the tracks, they're very blatant in terms of the sex references (I mean les sex, sexercise, sexy love, really?) and I first felt like she was adding the word sex just for the lolz. I also feel like the auto tune on some is too much to bear (eg Beautiful and Feels so good, although the chorus of the latter makes me forget it).  06 - Body Language Not the worst album I have heard but I didn't find myself attached to the album like wih the others and found that most of the songs wernt catchy at all. There are no strong songs except for the singles but the music videos of the era are maybe some of the best she's done.
April 17, 201411 yr Author It also gave Kylie a very distinctive edge for a much older singer She's not quite rolling out on a zimmer frame just yet
April 18, 201411 yr 01 LIGHT YEARS I loved this album on first listen despite not being the biggest fan of spinning around ( i do love spinning around for what it done for her career and i love the b side paper dolls,oh back in the day when we got proper cd singles with b sides etc) i loved the cover sleeve from the minute i saw it and sensed Kylie was back where she belonged in the pop market. So many great tracks on the album, while i do like Your Disco Needs You i think it was the right decision that it wasnt the lead single as once rumoured and i think it was best served not as a single on the whole. I find light years so consistent it in general is an all out pop album that suited Kylie brilliantly and it was what she exactly needed to do at that time. I do enjoy all the singles of the album and can see why they were picked but i prefer a few of the album tracks over the singles. Best Tracks Disco Down, Under the Influence and Bittersweet Goodbye Almost Best tracks Light years, butterfly Least liked track Koocachoo but i dont hate it. I would so love Light Years mark two, it would be very welcomed. 02 FEVER I also loved this album from first listen and loved all the artwork. The absolute correct singles were picked here although i think love at first sight should have been the 2nd single and in your eyes 3rd. I loved the various formats of the single releases including the dvd singles. Fever really was the ideal follow up to light years, the sound had moved frward but remained pop and this really was Kylie at her peak and cant get you out of my head brought her to a whole new level. Like lght years it was a very consistant album. I still enjoy fever and listen to it a lot but not quiet as much as light years. Best Tracks, the singles, fever and Fragile Worst track more more more, it really should not have been the album opener.  3 X 2 Hearts was not what i wanted from Kylie at the time and really did not know what to expect from the album. 2 hearts as a song is fine but i still think it should have been an album track only. I am not keen on any of the artwork that went with X and dont like the cover of the album at all. Initially, X was disappointing but after well quiet a few listens it clicked and i was like oh im really starting to like this now. The problem with X is i only like half the album, actually i adore half of it and dont really like the other half, light years and fever i like throughout. X has aged very well but they made such a mess in single choices as i really fee if they had marketed the album differently X would have sold so much better. Best Tracks, Like A Drug, Wow, The One I also really like : No more rain, stars and in my arms. Least liked track Heart beat rock and Nu-Di-Ty  4 Aphrodite I feel bad ranking it fourth as it contains all the lovers which i love and is in my top 3 favourite Kylie songs ever. All the Lovers left me so excited for the album, when i first heard all the lovers i was like this is exactly what i want from Kylie and had high hopes for the album. The album is good all round and very consistent and very of its time in parts but it lacked stand out single choices. Before i heard the album i had read so many people going on about get outta my way so i was anxious to hear it, i think the hype of it had raised my expectations and as a result i was left disappointed as i found it to be a poor version of love at first sight which is a song i love by Kylie. I love the album cover, probbably my faveourite allbum cover by Kylie so far. Best tracks Outside of the brill All the Lovers, i like Better than today, cupid boy and put your hands up. Least favourite Closer but i do like it. 5 Body Language Body Language and Kiss me Once are essentially both last for me as they are album i bought just because they are Kylie and i want to keep the collection complete. Body language was so so disappointing after the brilliant Light Years and Fever, i was gutted when i first listened to it and its an album i never got into, i did try by listening to it queit a lot but it just never done anything for me. The singles are by far the only things i like about the album and i really do like slow and chocolate. Chocolate really came alive when i wen to the tour, i feel in love with the song after the tour and it really went up on the list of my favourite Kylie songs, slow i great too and love the live version, i like red blooded woman but no as much as the other two. Best tracks Chocolate and Slow Worst Tracks, plenty to choose from but i will go with sweet music and obsession. 6 Kiss Me Once Oh dear, where to start, thank god for Les Sex or the album initially had nothing to completely draw my attention. Into the Blue has grown on me but if it wasnt released by Kylie i dont think it is a song that would have stood out to me. I Was Gonna Cancel is just awful and i hate that is going to be a single, beautiful isnt much better and i do like a kylie ballad. I know this album is new and i need to give it more time but i have the same feeling about it as i did with body language and time did nothing to change that either. I think what annoys me most about this album was the 4 year wait and new management i had convinced myself that Kylie would comeback with something huge and she really didnt. Best tracks into the blue and les sex Worst is easily the awful mess that it is i was gonna cancel. April 22, 201411 yr Could we do a rank albums topic with all her studio albums, or possibly do it in this thread?
April 22, 201411 yr 1 X (BT: In My Arms, The One, Speakerphone, Like A Drug, Wow) 2 Kiss Me Once (BT: If Only, Sexercize, Feel So Good, Kiss Me Once, Les Sex, Sexy Love) 3 Body Language (BT: Red Blooded Woman, Chocolate, Obsession) 4 Aphrodite (BT: Get Outta My Way, Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love), Cupid Boy) haven't heard the others two but singles wise both albums contains two of my favourite singles of her On a Night Like This and In Your Eyes. 5 Fever (love also Come Into My World and Love at First Sight) 6 Light Years (Spinning Around is okayish)Â
April 22, 201411 yr (01) Fever From start to finish Fever is clean, stylish electro-pop, a almost perfect album which is Kylie at her all-conquering best. HOT: every track except... NOT: Give It To Me (02) Light Years The gayest album ever. Total campfest. It's so happy, summery and delightful I can't help but smile when I listen to it and it evokes blissful, relaxing summer days. HOT: On A Night Like This, Butterfly, Under The Influence of Love, I'm So High, Light Years NOT: Bittersweet Goodbye (it has no place on the album) (03) X A mixed bag. So much potential and so many excellent songs it just never really meshed as an era for me. HOT: Like A Drug, Sensitized, The One, Wow NOT: All I See, Cosmic, No More Rain (04) Aphrodite An awful lot to love on here, I just felt the whole era was "play it safe" minus All The Lovers which is almost the perfect pop song. HOT: All The Lovers, Get Outta My Way, Closer NOT: Illusion (05) Kiss Me Once Important to say that this album is still very new. It hasn't wowed me, I haven't been blown away by it a la Fever or Light Years. HOT: If Only, Fine, Mr President, Sexy Love, Les Sex, Feels So Good NOT: Beautiful, Kiss Me Once (06) Body Language An album that suffered from comparisons to its predecessor I like it, but I don't love it. HOT: Slow, Red Blooded Woman, Chocolate, Loving Days NOT: Sweet Music, Someday, I Feel For YouÂ
May 2, 201411 yr 1. Fever Probably my fave Kylie album of all time every track is just utter brilliance, I just loved everything her style and her image at the time and the brilliant first 3 singles (Can't Get You Out Of My Head, In Your Eyes & Love At First Sight) were just perfection although "Come Into My World" was a great track but personally I would have prefered "Fever" being the 4th single but oh well that still didn't stop this from being a great era from start to finish at a time when Kylie was at the top of her game Top 5 Tracks Love At First Sight Can't Get You Of My Head Fever In Your Eyes Love Affair Least Faves Your Love More, More, More 2. Light Years Kylie's fantastic comeback album and return to her pop roots where she belongs only updating her pop sound and adding new age disco and sophistication to it, with an album packed full of potential singles including the fantastic Spinning Around which of course topped the charts Top 5 Tracks Spinning Around On A Night Like This So Now Goodbye Your Disco Needs You Under The Influence Of Love Leave Faves I'm So High Koochachoo 3. Kiss Me Once I don't care what anyone says I love this album and it's her best material she's brought out in years and should have gained the instant success it deserved, oh well maybe time will tell. Top 5 Tracks Into The Blue I Was Gonna Cancel Sexy Love Feels So Good Les Sex Least Faves Beautiful (Ft Enrique Iglesias) Million Miles 4. Aphrodite Kylie back on form after the critical blacklash off her previous album and flows consistant all the way through with some great tracks and the massive success of the lead single "All The Lovers" gave Kylie another #1 album in 4 decades. Top 5 Tracks All The Lovers Get Outta My Way Aphrodite Cupid Boy Too Much Least Faves Everything Is Beautiful Illusion 5. X Kylie's comeback after her cancer ordeal album which features a great selection of strong electro pop tracks, but some of the unreleased tracks like Cherry Bomb and White Diamond should have made this album instead of some of it's stinkers but anyway this album does features some fantastic tracks but 2 Hearts was definately the wrong choice for a comeback single further releases were a million times better but poor handling and botched releases did mess things up on what could have been something really special. Top 5 Tracks In My Arms The One Speakerphone Wow Like A Drug Least Faves Sensitized Nu-Di-Ty Cosmic 6. Body Language My least fave album from her parlo era, although I do commend her for doing something completely different and not playing it safe by releasing a Fever clone, but this sound just didn't work for me I'm afraid but it still does contain some great tracks. Top 5 Tracks Slow Secret (Take You Home) Red Blooded Woman Loving Days Still Standing  Â
October 18, 201410 yr Hey guy, my name is Adam, this is my first post btw.. I am not a big fan or a follower of Kylie, actually a gay mate of mine at work bought me her albums (boxset) for a trade thingy at work, I bought him Trey songz btw haha.  I never thought too much of Kylie, herd a few songs on the radio and thought she was hot, that's about it. The only album I have in my old CD collection is body language as I took a chance on that album at the time based on the Urban vibe on Red blooded woman etc. Now that I have herd all the albums, I would rank them in the following order. 1) BODY LANGUAGE: I like more urban styles of music, this is the closes Kylie will ever get to it. The production sounds polished & sleek. The album has a dark moody laid back kind of feel. I like albums like that you can play in the background and the whole album flows well. The bonus track Slo Motion is awesome. (you make me feel is aight) Also, theres one annoying track I think it was "I feel for you". A good album does not have to be filled with singles to be a good chillout album. Producers did well to find RNBish songs to suit her thin voice, it actually works in some parts on this album. Also, I feel Kylie was her hottest here, the whole album pics / image etc. (No offence, I am not into the whole overly camp and feathers thing that her fans like at times) Loving days is sexy. This album got some really good reviews internationally.  2) APHRODITE: Having herd Fever, I think this is a more modern version that flows much better. Production is awesome...Her voice sounds thin / girlish haha but I guess this is her more natural poppy / dance style, that she does best. First 2 singles are really good. This is another album u can hear from beginning to end in the background, not necessarily commercial or radio singles, but more a home kind of listen. Only track I despise is the country sounding one "better than today" Actually hate it, the sound of the music is one you hear it Target or Big W and is quite annoying. I think its cool she did an album for her fans, as unless someone bought this for you, or you were a fan, not sure who would buy her music. Illusion is cool & closer. ALl the Lovers / Get outta my way BEST SINGLES I saw the Aphrodite concert online, & again... she had the feathers out and all these outfits lol did not like it. Though her body language concert and kiss me once at the end when she is in normal clothes, the woman is sexy. Overall, cool uptempo modern dancey classic kylie album. It's obvious this style of album is her most natural ahead of body language.Everything is Beautiful is a cool laid back track.  3) Kiss Me Once: Production is tight, sounds expensive & modern. And here, she is not only appealing to gay fans or the whole camp thing, its mixed. I find it baffling that alot of her gay fans (no offence) despise "Sexercize" lol I don't mind it. good track. Overall a very modern record where if you didn't know it was her I think alot of mainstream people would hear or take a liking to this album. Shame it is not selling well. I actually bought this to support her and because of sexercize haha. "Sleeping with the enemy" is also good. I think this album disguises her voice as you have to be objective is very nasally & thin. But the production covers it well. Honestly, the above are the only 3 I wouldn't mind if they came on in the background.... However just for this post,  4) Fever: Back when this came out, only saw her sexy videos and herd on the radio, would never have bought this album until I received it in the boxset. The singles including the track fever is good, though all the rest is dated and a little soft. Don't want to offend anyone though whats with the album cover lol. I think it's terrible especially for her best selling album. Body language / aphrodite much better. anyway singles are all awesome and sound similar. Her peak I guess 5) X. I liked "All I see" as it is RnBish.. offcourse majority of her fans disliked this track. I think it was good and was compared to janet jackson. Another mate of mine who is also straight didn't know it was her. I think non-fans wouldn't mind some kylie tracks she has good songs, though she needs the sex appeal and videos / production as her voice is whiney.... X was modern, speakerphone / nudity were cool. There is something about this album I like and hate. For e.g beginning of "in my arms" and "stars" "2 hearts" the music / sounds with her voice sounds so tinny and hurts my ears lol.... though cool she tried the electro thing. Wow was ok but sounds like a 12 year old recorded it.  6) Light Years only for the purpose of this exercise. On a night like this only song i don't mind, spinning around (those shorts!) and please stay are ok. Though again guys, no offence though to her gay fan base, I despise the whole feathers and overly camp thing going on. No wander she finds it hard to hit the mainstream oseas as her gay fans want her to keep parading around in feathers and make overly girly music (no offence as I have gay friends and I am an open minded guy, for God's sake I am writing an essay haha) though when she does more dancey, urban, electro or say SKIRT what an awesome track and the production, though the fans get all upset and want to drag her back to Light Years etc... Do not like this album though each to their own. Don't get the whole boat thing lol.  Thought it would be cool to provide my perspective and opinions on her albums... top 3, Body Language / Aphrodite / Kiss me Once (Fever singles) Saw her performance of sexercize at the itunes festival online, HOT! & in the end in that skirt, damn.  WOuld be awesome to hear back from you guys on what you think. Cheers Â
October 18, 201410 yr 1) Body Language 2) Aphrodite 3) Kiss Me Once 4) Fever 5) X 6) Light Years (worst album)
October 18, 201410 yr 01 Fever - The highlight of her career. The only song I dont like is More More More, everything else is good to great, and my standouts are Fragile, Fever, Your Love and Love Affair.  02 X - I absolutely hated 2 Hearts, but thankfully the rest of the album sounds nothing like it. There are a few duds like Cosmic, but overall there are many more great songs on there to make it a fab album, from Stars, to Speakerphone, to Wow, to The One. 03 Body Language - Probably the wrong move for her career, and Slow was not the best song to start it all off. However there are several great moments in this, from Obsession, to Secret, to the great Red Blooded Woman, however there is some filler that bring it down a notch. 03 Light Years - Has the best Kylie single (OANLT) and it was the era I fell in love with her. A good album, but there is definitely filler in it. The 4 great singles put it easily above Aphrodite, and tied with Body Language. 05 Aphrodite - I can honestly say I didnt like this album besides the first 2 singles and 1 or 2 album tracks. Its all very one note and there are no standouts. Haven't heard Kiss Me Once, I guess I've gone a little off her, and I'm no longer as curious to hear her albums like I used to be 5-10 years ago. October 19, 201410 yr Casualfan, I was quite enjoying reading your post and a very alternative perspective on Kylie until I got to the bit about Fever having an awful album cover. What a disgraceful thing to say. It's incredible, flawless, instantly iconic! My current rank. 06 Aphrodite (dated, badly produced, lacking big choruses, terribly nasal vocals throughout, but it does have All The Lovers. C+) 05 Kiss Me Once (badly sequenced with too much filler (Million Miles being the worst) but everything from Sexercize onwards is stellar. B.) 04 Body Language (wonderfully cohesive with a clear concept that's mostly done justice, just a touch shy on standouts / singles. B+) 03 X (her most up and down album, but the highs are so stunningly high it doesn't matter. Still get such a thrill from Drug, Sensitised, Arms and Speakerphone. B++) And I can no longer decide between Fever and Light Years. Fever has the whole cool, sexy vibe going on and is wrapped up in so much nostalgia for me. LY definitely has more properly great songs. Both among my favourites of all time. Â
October 19, 201410 yr I actually dont like the Fever cover either, I prefer the US cover :D Or even the other photos from the Fever photoshoot, the ones where she's on the floor with the microphobe wire wrapped around her legs Edited October 19, 201410 yr by Euphorique
October 20, 201410 yr Author The normal Fever cover is a bit dire, the special edition one with her in that bluey dress is much nicer. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41kHVRSTMEL.jpg
October 26, 201410 yr Just realized I bought kiss me once based on sexercise & sleeping with the enemy Fine & les sex and feels so good are not bad though her voice really isn't attractive. When you listen to Dannii especially on Unleashed or any album her voice is so much more fuller and stronger which makes the nasalness tolerable as for kylie its pretty bad Jlo also has a nasally voice though it is not as bad
November 26, 201410 yr 1. Body Language By far her most cohesive record (in terms of quality, only Impossible Princess is better), Body Language was an artistic endeavour for Kylie like the aforementioned album that saw her successfully experimenting with electro pop, funk and R&B as well as different styles of pop and dance. Based on the notions that every track has its own energy and that when digested as a whole, it's fantastically consistent throughout, Body Language is by far the best. The amount of shit she got off some fans for this was ridiculous and unjustified because the criticism came from the fact that the album isn't Fever part two. And really, where would that have got her, ultimately?  2. Fever A classic and iconic pop record that I feel really energised the 2000s pop scene. Again, every track is quality although there are a couple of occasions where certain material is stronger than other songs (More More More and Dancefloor strike me as weaker tracks, however they're in no way bad at all). Ultimately there's not really a lot to say about it other than that it's a beautifully done pop record.  Both Body Language and Fever boast of several outtakes which could have been in their respective albums. 3. X The quality of songs on this album are almost as good as the music on Fever, give or take, and it's a really creative and diverse album. On the flipside, it's also patchy as an album because Kylie experimented with perhaps too many genres and/or sub genres here. Again, like Fever, it's good from start to finish but has a couple of tracks that aren't as good as the rest, namely Heartbeat Rock and Cosmic.  4. Aphrodite  A by-the-numbers pop album that is solid and nicely arranged and structured but calculated and devoid of any creativity. Again, not much to say about this.  5. Light Years Each time I listen to this I grow less and less fond of it and here's why: it contains a fair bunch of novelty tracks with either silly lyrics or melodies, and the gems on the album are therefore hidden among some tracks that could have been replaced by b-sides: Paper Dolls replacing Bittersweet Goodbye, for example? YES, I THINK SO. 6. Kiss Me Once Decent pop album with some outstanding moments and mostly empty and faceless pop songs. It's growing on me but honestly I've only listened to it a few times whereas usually eight months after the release of a Kylie album I'd have played it so much more. Like Aphrodite it's not creative whatsoever and I think she's starting to run out of ideas (twelve albums and twenty-seven years into her career, who can blame her?).
