Go Molly! :cheer: I wonder how high it can get after Graham Norton tonight?

Should keep climbing with Eurovision buzz next week, looks set to beat Bonnie's #93 peak anyway. :P

I think the difference is that didn't lose sales due to being ineligible, although 'Walking On Air' did.

Dark Horse was the first grat track to be released which was chart eligible then Walking On Air came out as the next track and wasn't able to chart

That's why I'm annoyed as Coldplay will have lost sales by releasing this as a grat track from the album rather than as an official single, I think this could have gone top 3 on Sunday had it been released properly

But hopefully they will make Midnight ineligible for Sunday!

I really like this track now!

Really hope this goes top 40 next week, and hopefully we can do well next Saturday but I'm not going to get too excited based on previous years, though a top 10 finish at the contest is possible

To be fair, the same thing happened with Paradise. Although I do agree it's still a stupid move considering Paradise could have been a million seller by now and I don't think ASFOS feels as big.

Midnight is already inelegible, apart from the remix version. That's why it wasn't top 40 last week.

I don't see why the record companies are doing this. The OCC made it so one instant grat would be elegible, but it would be ridiculous for them to allow any more, it's just not going to happen, and if ASFOS was released as a separate single it would have done so well - as it is, by the time the album comes out it will have lost a load of sales :(

I don't understand it either. Gaga's Do What You Want could have had an extra 150k sales and gone Gold, if it weren't for its 3 ineligible weeks.

 2. Coldplay - A Sky Full Of Stars

By the way I was right about Damon Albarn, his Sunday 'sales' which should have been ineligible are still being counted in the mids so the OCC clearly don't enforce the rule of only allowing sales from a particular time onwards in a week. They only did so with Eminem for whatever reason.

Oh this is actually out as a single! Assumed it would have been another instant grat (though there isn't one from 'Xscape' yet anyway). Doing pretty well then.

It's out now and currently at number 45 on iTunes

its not a bad track, not too sure what to make of it at the moment

Thanks, do you know if that's the JT version as doesn't mention him.

The 26 is the solo version and the 46 is the JT version. It will pass it soon, like all over the world... It's out in the UK after.

Didn't even see the JT version earlier - I think it may have only just been added as it's only been on one Kworb update whereas the solo version has been on 3. I would expect the JT version to overtake the solo version soon then.
The Coldplay song would be nowhere near #1 on iTunes were it not for being a pre-order track. I don't think there's as much as stake here with its ineligibility as is thought.

From what I understand it's a very commercially friendly song though. I haven't actually listened to it yet but from the general hype around it I think it is a pretty big hit in waiting. Obviously it's decreasing a lot right now as its initial sales burst from album pre-orders being lumped on dies away but it could stabilise while still in the top 10. (Failing that 'Magic' is currently poised to re-enter the top 10 anyway :P)

It's only going to miss out on two full weeks of sales anyway, compared to 6 for 'Paradise' and not sure how many but probably also more for 'Viva La Vida'.

A Sky Full Of Stars is basically a Coldplay song with Avicii production so you are right to assume it's commercially friendly :P

There was me thinking 'Princess Of China' would be the furthest they'd ever deviate from their typical sound.

I wonder what their hardcore fans think of the Avicii collaboration.

This could go top 40 after the performance tonight! :D

That Coldplay song is essentially an Avicii song with Chris Martin's vocals (and it's produced by him as well I believe) I'm certain it will be a huge hit whenever it becomes elligible, could do without it reaching number 1 though as it pales in comparison to Midnight/Magic.

All three Coldplay songs sound like three completely different bands with the same lead singer, will be rather strange to see them all in the top 40 in a few weeks.

The livepopbars account has been suspended apparently

It does this all the time. It means nothing, it'll be back again by tomorrow at the latest.

Little Mix - Salute is almost top 200 after the video premiered at midnight! Radio 1 playlist rotation doesnt kick in until Monday either! Hopefully a good sign that this will be a big hit for them!
