Surprised its Nancy Carter that is up for best newcomer for EastEnders i was sure it would be Jonny Carter.

I can see Hollyoaks doing incredibly well at the British Soap Awards - they really have slayed the nominations! I'm disappointed that Anna Passey never got nominated for best newcomer though. I can see Hollyoaks winning sexiest male, villain of the year , best newcomer and maybe best actor?

Johnny comes out to Mick (EastEnders)

^ that better win Spectacular Scene.

I think Hollyoaks have Spectacular Scene won this year.

I have just completed my voting with a large percentage of my votes going to EastEnders. Emmerdale in my opinion deserve spectacular scene of the year or best single episode.

Best British Soap

EastEnders

Not buying into the Roy/Hayley shit. It could have been amazing, but it was an incredibly DULL storyline.

Lacey Turner winning Best Actress would be ridiculous.

Totally agree Lee (but I think she probably will unfortunately)

I'd go for:

Sexiest Male

Matthew Wolfenden (David Metcalfe, Emmerdale)

Sexiest Female

None of those nominated (Charlie Webb from Emmerdale is far sexier/attractive than any of them)

Villain of the Year

Dominic Power (Cameron Murray, Emmerdale)

Best Actor

David Neilson (Roy Cropper, Coronation Street)

Best Actress

Torn between - Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley Cropper, Coronation Street) and Nikki Sanderson (Maxine Minniver, Hollyoaks)

Best British Soap

Emmerdale

Edited by Kath

Sexiest Male

Ashley Taylor Dawson (Darren Osborne, Hollyoaks)

(They're all hot though except Ryan who's just not my type I guess)

Sexiest Female

Georgia May Foote (Katy Armstrong, Coronation Street)

Villain of the Year

Anna Passey (Sienna Blake, Hollyoaks)

Best Actor

Kieron Richardson (Ste Hay, Hollyoaks)

Best Actress

Stephanie Davis (Sinead Roscoe, Hollyoaks)

(Nikki Sanderson and Julie Hesmondhalgh would be fab too but Stephanie was absolutely outstanding in the episodes leading up to and following Katy's death. I love Lacey Turner but her winning over prominent characters like Maxine Minniver, Sinead O'Connor and. Hayley cropper would be ridiculous considering how little she's been back so far. When she returns properly full time I'm sure she'll win Best Actress again)

Hollyoaks

Best Single Episode

Hayley's death (Coronation Street)

Best Dramatic Performance

Stephanie Davis (Sinead Roscoe, Hollyoaks)

Best Comedy Performance

Laura Norton (Kerry Wyatt, Emmerdale)

(Linda Henry would be worthy too)

Best Young Performance

Mimi Keene (Cindy Williams, EastEnders)

(All of these are fairly annoying though)

Spectacular Scene of the Year

Johnny comes out to Mick (EastEnders)

Best On-Screen Partnership

David Neilson and Julie Hesmondhalgh (Roy and Hayley Cropper, Coronation Street)

Best Newcomer

Charlie Clapham (Freddie Roscoe, Hollyoaks)

Best Storyline0

Sienna steals Nancy's life (Hollyoaks)

If Anna Passey and Stephanie Davis go home empty handed... :(

I can't help but think that Sienna stealing Nancy's life will not be provided with the awards it deserves. It's a totally unique storyline which was rather incredible tbh.

From the panel chosen nominations, the ones I want to win are:

Best Single Episode

Hayley's death (Coronation Street)

'Perfect' (Doctors)

Lucy's death - the aftermath (EastEnders) (Presumably this is the Tuesday episode where we see everyone's reaction)

The Woolpack siege (Emmerdale)

John Paul's rape ordeal (Hollyoaks)

Best Dramatic Performance

David Neilson (Roy Cropper, Coronation Street)

Chris Walker (Rob Hollins, Doctors)

Lindsey Coulson (Carol Jackson, EastEnders)

Charley Webb (Debbie Dingle, Emmerdale)

Stephanie Davis (Sinead Roscoe, Hollyoaks)

Best Comedy Performance

Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald, Coronation Street)

Sarah Moyle (Valerie Pitman, Doctors)

Linda Henry (Shirley Carter, EastEnders)

Laura Norton (Kerry Wyatt, Emmerdale)

Dan Tetsell (Jim McGinn, Hollyoaks)

Best Young Performance

Alex Bain (Simon Barlow, Coronation Street)

Oliver Woollford (Tom Finlayson, Doctors)

Mimi Keene (Cindy Williams, EastEnders)

Joe Warren-Plant (Jacob Gallagher, Emmerdale)

Ellis Hollins (Tom Cunningham, Hollyoaks)

Spectacular Scene of the Year

Nick and David's car crash (Coronation Street)

Opening of Austenland (Doctors)

Johnny comes out to Mick (EastEnders)

The Woolpack flood and siege (Emmerdale)

Hollyoaks Blast (Hollyoaks)

Best On-Screen Partnership

David Neilson and Julie Hesmondhalgh (Roy and Hayley Cropper, Coronation Street)

Danielle Henry and Lu Corfield (Mandy Marquez and Lois Wilson, Doctors)

Kellie Bright and Danny Dyer (Linda and Mick Carter, EastEnders)

Charlie Hardwick and Chris Chittell (Val and Eric Pollard, Emmerdale)

Jennifer Metcalfe and Joseph Thompson (Mercedes McQueen and Dr Paul Browning, Hollyoaks)

Best Newcomer

Amy Kelly (Maddie Heath, Coronation Street)

Maddy Hill (Nancy Carter, EastEnders) (Not the best selection but I've definitely enjoyed watching the whole Carter family)

Michael Parr (Ross Barton, Emmerdale)

Charlie Clapham (Freddie Roscoe, Hollyoaks)

Best Storyline

Hayley's cancer (Coronation Street)

Jas stalking (Doctors)

Hello Stacey, goodbye Janine (EastEnders)

Killer Cameron (Emmerdale)

Sienna steals Nancy's life (Hollyoaks)

Not sure why Stacey's return/Janine's exit was chosen over Lauren's drinking problem but ah well.

Recently Eastenders has been excellent but since we must take into account May-April (pre-Michael's death in EE was a borefest), I'd like Hollyoaks to win Best Soap.

I think Hollyoaks have Spectacular Scene won this year.

I'm not so sure, all the nominees aside EE (don't know about Doctors but they'll never win it anyway) involve some sort of disaster happening which makes EE stick out more, not like a sore thumb, but I think it would interest the panel. Plus the reaction for it on Twitter at the time was really big and positive. However, I'd be very happy with Hollyoaks winning that as it was an incredibly done episode (and if I remember correctly, coincided with their anniversary(?)

I can't help but think that Sienna stealing Nancy's life will not be provided with the awards it deserves. It's a totally unique storyline which was rather incredible tbh.

I'd LOVE this to win but it seems Corrie would have it in the bag. :(

I can't help but think that Hollyoaks could actually win best soap of the year - they are promoting it like mad on Twitter / Facebook.
Still speechless at Lacey Turner and Danny Dyer with their best actor/actress nominations... It is obvious they are only nominated for Eastenders to have publicity they both have had less than 5 months on set.

Danny Dyer would be fully deserving. He's been on screen four months and made a huge impact in that time. And considering it's a weak overall category I think he'll win.

Lacey is not deserving obviously and won't win.

VIEWER-VOTED CATEGORIES

Sexiest Male

Danny Dyer (Mick Carter, EastEnders) Scott Maslen won this a lot when he was in EE so I think Danny is in with a chance

Sexiest Female

Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre, Coronation Street)

Villain of the Year

Charlie Brooks (Janine Butcher, EastEnders) I think Emmerdale or Hollyoaks could get this but I think Charlie deserves it

Best Actor

David Neilson (Roy Cropper, Coronation Street)

Best Actress

Julie Hesmondhalgh (Hayley Cropper, Coronation Street)

Best British Soap

Coronation Street

PANEL-VOTED CATEGORIES

Best Single Episode

Hayley's death (Coronation Street) Hollyoaks could be a shock win here

Best Dramatic Performance

Lindsey Coulson (Carol Jackson, EastEnders) It will be between Lindsay and David Nielson I think

Best Comedy Performance

Linda Henry (Shirley Carter, EastEnders) Highly unlikely, but I don't know the other sand Simon Gregson is NOT funny just extremely annoying

Best Young Performance

Alex Bain (Simon Barlow, Coronation Street) I hope I'm wrong, the kid is so pretentious

Spectacular Scene of the Year

The Woolpack flood and siege (Emmerdale) Id like EE to win, but if not this should get as it was really exciting to watch

Best On-Screen Partnership

David Neilson and Julie Hesmondhalgh (Roy and Hayley Cropper, Coronation Street)

Best Newcomer

Amy Kelly (Maddie Heath, Coronation Street) Id rather Maddy Hill wins but its not a strong selection IMO

Best Storyline

Hayley's cancer (Coronation Street)

Really at all this Hayley domination? Don't think Maddy Hill should have beat Charlie Chaplman either in best newcomer. Also think best storyline should have been Sienna but YASSS at Sienna winning best villan and YASSSSSSSSSS at Hollyoaks winning best soap
