Posted April 30, 201411 yr I remember when Cascada's Evacuate the Dancefloor didn't reach the top of itunes until Tuesday afternoon that week but still did enough to achieve the official number 1, with Mr Probz now itunes number 1 again as of Wednesday lunchtime, could there still be time for him to claim a fortnight at the top officially? Any other examples of late itunes rushes to the overall top? Edited April 30, 201411 yr by zenon
April 30, 201411 yr I don't think so. Calvin was 20k ahead, which is a difficult lead to beat. It's not like he's going to stop selling. Pre-orders factor a lot into what's number 1 these days, I don't think they did back when Cascada went to number 1?
April 30, 201411 yr Some songs got #1 officially whilst never getting #1 on iTunes. Gettin' Over You by David Guetta is the latest I can think of. I think it got #1 on iTunes on Thursday? Glad Fergie got that #1! :) From the daily iTunes chart thread: iTunes Update (Thu 3rd June 2010, morning) [04] 01| David Guetta & Chris Willis feat. Fergie & LMFAO - Gettin' Over You (also #131, Extended Version #101) [01] 02| B.o.B feat. Bruno Mars - Nothin' On You (also #90) [02] 03| Jason Derülo - Ridin' Solo (also #158) [05] 04| Aggro Santos & Kimberly Wyatt - Candy [03] 05| Dizzee Rascal - Dirtee Disco (also #78, Club Mix #154) [07] 06| N-Dubz feat. Bodyrox - We Dance On (From "StreetDance 3D") [11] 07| Alicia Keys - Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart (also #124, #147) [06] 08| Eminem - Not Afraid [09] 09| Sean Kingston & Justin Bieber - Eenie Meenie [08] 10| Iyaz - Solo Gosh, the days when the charts were dominated by R&B singers and rappers doing dance-pop music... :drama: I don't think so. Pre-orders factor a lot into what's number 1 these days, I don't think they did back when Cascada went to number 1? I think they did have pre-orders back then, but they weren't visible on the singles chart (only on the album charts if they were an EP), so people didn't care about them so much. It's possible the #1 before Cascada was in its 2nd week or later, or didn't have pre-orders, so it was easier for them to overtake. Edited April 30, 201411 yr by Eric_Blob
April 30, 201411 yr We Found Love didn't get there until Wednesday did it? It remember it definitely came as a surprise that it beat Moves Like Jagger in the end. It helped that it had a massive lead all week.
April 30, 201411 yr The number one over Cascada on the iTunes chart was Michael Jackson - Man In The Mirror, so it was already available!
April 30, 201411 yr Sak Noel - Loca People was the last song to reach #1 officially without ever being I-Tunes #1. Script - Hall Of Fame reached #1 on I-Tunes for the first time (no pun intended!) on Thursday 13/9/2012 and reached #1 officially that Sunday.

It helped that it had a massive lead all week. No surprise, I predicted it would happen 2 weeks earlier, even before the release was officially brought forward.

It helped that it had a massive lead all week. We found love was released on a wedneday and being 4 days on sale was enough for it to get officially to No. 1 Edited May 3, 201411 yr by steps
