Commentary

 

Despite it being one week until Eurovision, after eight weeks solid of contest related No.1's there's a new leader this week. Dutch trance producer RAM and singer Susana's RAMelia (Tribute To Amelia), a tribute to RAM's late wife, climbs three places to the top of the chart! Molly's Children Of The Universe is down a place to No.2 after nine weeks in the top three and Pamela Myburgh, the lead singer of South African duo The Arrows who topped the chart last year with Spin My World and Entropy, climbs to No.3 with the beautiful piano ballad Fool! Sanna Nielsen is down to No.4 with the former chart topper Undo and UK producer Fox Stevenson makes a huge chart debut at No.5 with the instrumental dance track Tico! The Eurovision 2014 compilation makes it four weeks in a row at No.1 ahead of Euphoric Clubland II which moves up a place to a new peak of No.2! Shakira's Shakira. drops a place to No.3, compilation album The Ultimate Collection: 90s Anthems debuts at No.4 and Kylie Minogue falls to No.5 with Kiss Me Once.

20. Ariana Grande feat Iggy Azalea - Problem (NEW) (CR-20) I would like this so much more if Ariana had much more clarity in her vocals. Yikes but Iggy is fabulous and the song is fun so thAt's a positive :D

11. Paolo Nutini - Caustic Love (10) (CR-6-10-11) Iron Sky, Scream, Better Man, One Day, Cherry Blossom & Let Her Down Easy are the best track off this album for me. The rest bore me sadly :(

12. Iggy Azalea - The New Classic (7) (CR-7-12) Superb album. So many strong tracks on there singles aside. Goddess, New Bitch :wub:

13. Now That's What I Call 21st Century (9) (CR-9-13) See 90's Anthems ;)

16. Christina Perri - Head Or Heart (15) (CR-3-7-12-15-16) Probably one of my favourite albums I 've heard all year.

17. Embrace - Embrace (NEW) (CR-17) Lost interest near the end but the opening 2 songs are brilliant. Track 4 is rubbish and I think track 7 is the other one I liked. The last one isn't too bad either.

You'll be happy to know i actually sat through an entire Eurovision Semi just now (and more importantly really loved ~80% of it!). Looking forward to the final on Saturday.

 

A wonderful #1 here. Not sure what the backing story behind it is, but it doesn't really matter when the song itself speaks so loud. And as i said in your country thread, that shift !!! A very welcome entry from Michael Jackson & JT. The album is shaping up to be very good based on the few songs we've heard so far, so the doubter inside me is being quashed thankfully! :o
