May 27, 201411 yr Also includes Tony Christie, so "Is This The Way To Amarillo" is listed. I'm not sure the way I'm listing it is the best seeing that it was exactly the same recording in 2005 which I would normally just treat as a re-entry and accumulate weeks with the original. Technically speaking it would be considered in its 2005 form as what the Guinness Books referred to as a re-issue. Since the original was a 7 inch single and long ago deleted. Therefore you are correct as listing it as a new entry. Some singles were issued at this time with CD ROM videos on them. Often you had the choice of two CD's one without the CD ROM and one with. I don't know if this applies to this track, but if it did it would confirm the Peter Kay credit.
May 27, 201411 yr As I recall, the 2005 version of 'Amarillo' was on one CD and one DVD format, although I'm not sure that's entirely relevant. Personally, I'm all for keeping them separate as the credit is different.
May 28, 201411 yr Author So it looks like unanimity on the whole "Amarillo" thing. Has that ever happened on Buzzjack before?
June 2, 201411 yr Author Part 17 now added, dominated by the old-timers - Perry Como, Nat King Cole, Russ Conway & Alma Cogan. Also of course one of the biggest bands in the world today - Coldplay All other "C" parts also updated
June 2, 201411 yr Amber Coffman was also a featured artist on Major Lazer's 2012 #56 hit 'Get Free' (she is credited on Polyhex and all ~) Also, from Common's section, what is your source for Lady Gaga being credited on 'Make Her Say'? Her vocals are sampled on it but I don't think she was ever officially credited.
June 8, 201411 yr Author Amber Coffman was also a featured artist on Major Lazer's 2012 #56 hit 'Get Free' (she is credited on Polyhex and all ~) Agreed, I have her credited but didn't split the artist credit into the two halves properly. This will be sorted for Monday's update. Also, from Common's section, what is your source for Lady Gaga being credited on 'Make Her Say'? Her vocals are sampled on it but I don't think she was ever officially credited. I got most of the 2009 41-75 data from this very site, thread http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=100373 which does give the Gaga a credit. Unfortunately chartarchive's scans of printed material didn't run to 2009 so I don't have a MW chart to compare against. I can easily remove her if consensus is that she was uncredited.
June 8, 201411 yr That is unusual, not sure where that came from as she was definitely not ever credited on the song.
June 9, 201411 yr Author Part 18 added. None of the very biggest names here, the most weeks on chart of this batch being the wonderfully eclectic Elvis Costello. The only other ones over 100 wks are The Corrs and Alice Cooper (where I've included all the "band" Alice Cooper and "individual" Alice Cooper") and listed him under "C" as the individual ones dominate in terms of number if not quality. Also in this part - Coolio, Randy Crawford, Creedence Clearwater Revival and my favourite group, Counting Crows. Next week will see the end of the "C" section (not the "C-section"!) and looking forward to starting the D's. (Tom Cane now matches the criteria for inclusion with featured credits on two different tracks, so he has been slotted in to the posts above)
June 9, 201411 yr Regarding your favorite group Counting Crows, are Hangingaround and Hanginaround '04 really meant to be spelled differently? (I like them too by the way, that was the first song of theirs I ever heard)
June 10, 201411 yr Cradle Of Filth's hit seems to have been split into 2 hits (I believe the Babalon spelling is correct). And it should be Silver Bells, not Silver Balls. Other than that, great stuff!
June 10, 201411 yr Cradle Of Filth's hit seems to have been split into 2 hits (I believe the Babalon spelling is correct). It is indeed, 'Babalon A.D. (So Glad For The Madness)' in my spreadsheet (annoyingly as that's not the correct spelling of the actual word, but that was the spelling of the song).
June 11, 201411 yr And it should be Silver Bells, not Silver Balls. Yeah, I spotted that but I thought maybe it was a Freudian slip.
June 16, 201411 yr Author All the above amended, thanks for the posts. Final part of "C" now added - Taio Cruz has the most weeks on chart of this batch, but other acts were much more a part of music history - The Cure, Culture Club & Bing Crosby for instance. Next week it will be the final update of the C's for now, so please make any comments on the C's to be incorporated therein. Also I will be posting the first part of the D's, so a new thread which will occupy me for the next 6 weeks.

He later went solo without chart success Mick Jones left before 'This is England', he should be X-ref to BAD and Carbon/Silicon Joe Strummer 21-Aug-52 to 22-Dec-02 his real name was John Mellor and he was born in Turkey. he also charted solo and with his backing group The Mescaleros CLEA - Their last hit was as a trio CLIENT - Kate Holmes was also a member of Technique. She married Alan McGee of Creation Records fame COBRA STARSHIP - Some sources credit Leighton Meester on 'Good Girls Go Bad' COCKNEY REBEL - 'Make Me Smile' 2005 is a re-recording, but its existence meant that downloads of the original could appear in the chart in 2006. CREATURES real names Susan Dillon & Peter Clark - they were also married during the duo's career but I don't think they still are CRIBS - Johnny Marr was also a member but not at the time of their hits, so I understand that might not count CROWDED HOUSE - Paul Hester 8 Jan 1959 - 26 Mar 2005. June 22, 201411 yr Author Thanks for that! That might delay the final updated version of the "C" list a day or two while I digest that fantastic contribution. "D" will still start on schedule tomorrow morning though.
