Eurovision Mania

In the singles chart not much of a shocker, it was predicted a while back Rita Ora is probably on course to crash the party at #1 with a Calvin Harris production on 'I Will Never Let You Down'. Apart from that the rest of the new entries will probably come from the back of the Eurovision Song Contest held at Copenhagen, Denmark over the weekend from The Netherlands: The Common Linnets, Austria: Conchita Wurst, Sweden: Sanna Nielsen, Denmark: Basim and a new peak for our British entry from Molly, it really depends how well they hold up during the course of the week.

Michael Jackson with help from Justin Timberlake should also be looking at a new chart peak with the 80s infused disco track 'Love Never Felt So Good' with the aid of his new album release of 'Xscape' this week, Jason Derulo and Katy Perry should make further headway up the chart with 'Wiggle' and 'Birthday'.

The album chart is a three way battle between Michael Jackson 'Xscape', The Black Keys 'Turn Blue' and Foxes 'Glorious' better known as Louisa Rose Allen British born and bred from Southampton, she won her first Grammy Award: Best Dance Recording at the 56th Grammy Awards for "Clarity" all vying for a #1 position, other new entries should come from The Common Linnets [Download only], Nick Mulvey, Little Dragon, Chromeo, Tori Amos and 80s band Blondie might just scrape in.

The mid week update should be a Eurovision feast that radio 1 will be cringing having to play lol!
The mid week update should be a Eurovision feast that radio 1 will be cringing having to play lol!

I can't see more than a couple of EV new entries happening.

I think there'll be 5 in the initial mids that Radio 1 can enjoy! Sanna being one of them, can't believe she's still top 30 on iTunes *.*
There'll be about 5 or 6 maybe, but they'll do that thing where they play about a 10 second clip of the song & talk over it before moving onto the non-eurovision climbers & re-entries.
I can't see more than a couple of EV new entries happening.

Well I've already read elsewhere that the Common Linnets are at 3, Conchita Wurst is at 6, Molly's at 10, Sanna Nielsen's at 20 and Basim's at 24. More than a couple and I can't see them ALL falling out of the top forty by Sunday.

All of them??

I suppose Basim could fall out, but I can't see any of the others doing so.

I won't be able to listen to the chart on Sunday :( I want to hear Sanna's long-awaited moment of top 40 glory (if she holds up)! So happy that she's finally set for a hit outside Sweden!

That's a good news thanks! I hope all could hang in somehow, they are all still top 40 today on iTunes.

Realistically, it's unlikely that Sanna and Basim will hold up as they're nearly out of the top 40 on iTunes and there's still four more days to go.

Edited by Noahspike

I'm very interested to see where The Common Linnets are on the album chart. I would like to think top 30 in today's update would be achievable and probably top 60 by the end of the week?
