Glad Ariana and Ella are doing decently on pre-orders. If both got to #01 they would be the best #01s for me in a LONG LONG time - two of my songs of the year :wub: I shan't hold my breath though.

Ariana is looking like a definitely #1, I am shocked that the pre-order has not left the top 200 since it was made available. I thought once her initial fanbase had pre-ordered the song it would fall to around #300-#400 like I think Demi's 'Heart Attack' did, but it hasn't!

 

Ella is now looking very likely too as 'Ghost' hasn't left the top 200 since it was made Radio 1's track of the day. As airplay continues to increase it should definitely get #1 too.

 

They would both be amazing #1s so I hope they happen!

I'm not sure how this is going to perform - It's got incredible TV airplay at the moment but it's not really doing much on iTunes. I would have assumed that 'Salute' would have missed the top 20 but it's almost a certainty that they will be performing on Britains Got Talent. I'm predicting a peak of around #13.

The same applies to as above - obviously going to be performing on BGT so I'm expecting top 15 at least. If both had not been promoting I would expect 'Salute' to appear at around #28 and 'You And I' to re-enter the chart at around #30.

Yes, unfortunately Cheryl is too old to be on the Radio1 playlist. Ella will win this battle easily imo. ^_^

Sadly 1D will get extra promo from appearing at Radio 1's Big Weekend...Simon Cowell must be desperate to show the flop of Midnight Memories was a one off

 

I thought this would peak top 30 but with all that promo this will probably climb to 12/13 though I'm hoping for lower around 19/20

They are a bit ageist, particularly with women. But I still don't think they'd snub Cheryl, especially since her profile is probably going to be sky high from August with her return to X-Factor. Her 3 previous lead singles have been pretty big number 1s, too.

Its not just about age - its also about current profile, type of music and the song too.

I would be VERY surprised if they snubbed Cheryl, they've always supported her before and this comeback is bound to be megahype etc.

 

Will be interesting to see how the new Nicki Minaj single does. To be honest I don't think she'll ever get another top 30 hit.
