Posted June 3, 201411 yr http://i.imgur.com/NzVLU.jpg After the success of their début single 'What Makes You Beautiful', One Direction were the next big boy band, and they were well on their way to making their first studio album one to remember in boy band history (even if now it's the one I remember least, oops)! I remember hearing 'What Makes You Beautiful' a hell of a lot on the radio when I was in the car, my mum knew the words (embarrassingly), it was the perfect launch to their career and they knew what they were doing. Then along came 'Gotta Be You'... The second single from their début album 'Up All Night'. Everything seemed alright, it's a decent ballad, very nice song, the video was really nice, Zayn looked perfect (although we've come to expect nothing less now). But, the fan reaction is that the song is atrocious, the video is atrocious, everything about the release is atrocious - well, on Buzzjack anyway. I assume everybody here would think that the song's b-side 'Another World' would have made a better single (or track on the main album) than 'Gotta Be You' would have. Y'all are wrong, bye (even if that is an amazing song!) Join us in the eighth part of #THROWBACK as we discuss, shade and take a nice little wander down memory lane with the song that followed 'What Makes You Beautiful' and that some fans believe tarnishes what could have been an excellent singles campaign! Comment below and let us know what you think~ Let the shading commence. nvfejaHz-o0
June 3, 201411 yr I actually did like this at the time, but it's aged horrifically and I found out when the album was released that they can do ballads so much better than this.
June 3, 201411 yr I was a fan of this too when it first came out and even bought it, haven't bought a 1D single since One Thing though :o Edited June 3, 201411 yr by jsilv
June 3, 201411 yr I didn't like this track and was a horrible follow up single, They should have released More Than This or Taken as the follow up single
June 8, 201411 yr The b-side is brilliant. And that's all the positive things I can say about this release. :)
