Posted June 26, 201411 yr The Saturdays new single What Are You Waiting For? premiered this morning on Capital Fm. It has since gone down a storm with Team Sats however is constantly compared to both Trouble by Neon Jungle and I Love It by Icona Pop. As much as I agree that all three tracks are massive, dance stompers that basically are just relentless walls of sound, I think that each group of girls puts their own spin on the genre. The Saturdays = Fun, Summery. Neon Jungle = Loud, Attitude-filled. Icona Pop = IDGAF, Sass. What I'm curious to know is what song do you favour? Who do you think suits the style of music the best? THE SATURDAYS - WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? 4WoyeQ0Uo9k NEON JUNGLE - TROUBLE vMIy_PNlAcE ICONA POP - I LOVE IT (FEAT. CHARLI XCX) UxxajLWwzqY
June 26, 201411 yr Well for me, this "chanting" style of pop/dance song was pioneered first by Icona Pop so they naturally suit this style of song the best. My favourite of the three is also 'I Love It' but all three are great.
June 26, 201411 yr Best is definitely I Love It [10/10] followed by the new Sats single [3.5/10 on first listen but will probably get to about 5 or 6 eventually] and trouble [3.5/10] Saturdays suit this style the most [but they haven't done anything great in my view since their first 2 albums which were packed with hit singles- I think the lowest I rated one of them was 8.5/10 of ITIL]. Neon Jungle do not suit this style at all. The only song I like [and love] by them is Louder Edited June 26, 201411 yr by Ultraviolence
June 26, 201411 yr I Love It >>> Trouble >>>>> What Are You Waiting For? The Sats song just sounds messy. I thought the same about NJ's song at first though but I've grown to like it. I Love It is just a recipe for a smash hit.

June 26, 201411 yr lol. 'I Love It' is so far ahead of these it's not even funny. I was not really sold on 'Trouble' originally, but I have sort of come around to it over time~ the new Sats single feels like a rather 'basic bitch' tribute to the Icona/Neon tracks, so that can claim the 3rd Place Bronze Medal "Better Luck Next Time!" Prize ~
June 26, 201411 yr I prefer What Are You Waiting For to both of them but I think Icona Pop suit that kind of genre more. but I find I Love It a tad overrated.
June 26, 201411 yr Seriously? In my view just talking about the single releases missing you (7/10), what about us/ all fired up (around 6/10) and gentleman (5/10) are quiet good songs but not great and certainly don't live up to the first singles But they did do one great song which I always think is a 2009 song for some reason. NOTORIOUS. I LOVE THAT SONG Of the 2008/2009/early 2010 section my ratings are If this is love- 8.5/10 Up- 9/10 Issues- 10/10 Work- 6/10 (this can join the ones at the top of the post) Just cant get enough- 10/10 Forever is over- 11/10 Ego- somewhere between 8.5 to 9/10
June 26, 201411 yr Definately The Saturdays, dunno much about the other two, but maybe they will grow on me
June 27, 201411 yr Probably I Love It for now but only as it's just been one day since What Are You Waiting For, that will overtake I'm sure. Trouble is good but quite far behind these for me, it trails behind the other few Neon Jungle singles and I don't go back to it that much. Icona Pop suit it best I'd say. The instrumental is more Europop than the dubsteppy beats Neon Jungle utilise and though I adore it you can't tell the girls' voices apart in What Are You Waiting For so it not very "them" really, if that makes sense?
June 27, 201411 yr I'd probably say What Are You Waiting For? but it's a little early for now. I always liked both I Love It and Trouble but never *loved* either, whereas I'm loving WAYWF? for now at least.
